There will be daily email updates with attachements!! Hey, wait a minute! Did I just let a bunch of well meaning but complete strangers alter my travel plans?? It's a strange world we live in.

Anyway, I'll let my buddies carry on with the cruise ship crowd!!

Hi Orange, Just got back from Jaco. Beaches dirty and smelly? Looked pretty clean to me. But then again I live on the Jersey shore. lol Got some action at the XXX club above Pancho Villa with Marissa. A so called Nica. Asked Carlos about her at the Cocal where I stayed and said she was a Tica and her name was Maria.

No problem Strykoutking, Upon entering I sat down with a beer and 2 butt ugly girls sat down next to me. I told the english speaking one that sthey were not my type. lol. 2 min later Marissa sits down and she is very cute. Bought a lapdance for a drink $16. Mamasan (head waitress) wanted me to take her out for $150. I said my buddy is back at the hotel so I couldn't take her there. I said how about the rooms upstairs and she said there was none. I knew that there were. 5 min later she comes back and now she says there were rooms. Negotiated a bbbj with Marrisa for $30.

I went twice to CR solo, I was there both times for two weeks . You will be fine by yourself. You will see all the same mongers at the same places and eventually talk and compare notes.

Okay, I have seen the light and decided to change my plans. I realized it would be irresponsible of me to go to CR and NOT see the HDR. I have realized the error of my ways and am repenting.

Here's the revised itinerary

First Night-Checked into the Castillo
Next day, get the 10:30 bus to Jaco if I don't stay out all night
Arrive Midday-relax
Evening: Try and top what I did the night before
Next day: ATV tour
Evening: Try and top what I did the night before
Next day: Early bus out for a 2:00 flight home.

I know this may seem like an aggressive itinerary but I would actually like to see some of the country as I don't think I will be able to get back for awhile. For us married guys getting to hotspots on our own requires immense planning, rehearsing and deception.

One night at the Del Rey you probably won't make your plans. Make sure they are flexible. Either way, enjoy.

I hate to chime in where others have already shouted but even though you say you like the beach, keep in mind that this October and it will probably be raining (very heavily) every afternoon.

I did three days in Jaco in October a few years ago and admittedly had a good time, got a little sun early in the morning and partied at the Beatle Bar in the late evening. But in between it was a real pain in the ass to get anywhere because of the torrential downpours. I was in a hotel right on the water (Hotel Mango Mar - nice people run it, chica friendly and like I said right on the water and very near the center of town) and took a nap around noon. I woke up around 3 pm and was starving only to find that the little road leading back to the hotel from the main drag was now a running river about 2 to 3 feet deep. It wasn't until 6 pm that the water receded enough to venture outside again.

Now don't get me wrong, it's gonna rain in San Jose too. But unlike Jaco, there are a lot of indoor activities to be found in the daytime

I wish you luck and a great time on your first trip to Costa Rica
