I just booked my room for the 8, 9, & 10 at Hotel Castillio and will save enough there to cover my card. but that being said I will be there if you are close by. My name is Gary and I go by Red. Which is Roho in spanish. I am going to Idem on Thursday night but would be glad to tell you anything I think as honestly as I can. Of course it would be from my perspective.

At Hotel Del Rey there is no way to tell who the CRT guys are. At the Sportsman lodge there are always CRT guy's around and even a banner.

Where are you staying?

For happy hour at the Hotel Del Ray look near the entrance on the side facing the Key Largo or West side. At the tables will be sitting some older wiser guys. Ask "See Our Tea?" If yes ask to join the conversation and introduce yourself.

I will be in SJO the same time and will be at happy hour and at the Idem Feb 8th too.

Thanks. Ace. I'm staying at the Morazon, which I understand is within walking distance of the HDR? I plan on being at the HDR around 6 pm on This Thursday. I hope I can find you and some of the guys. If you see a dumb-ass, old white guy walking around with a question mark face, please grab me and let me buy you a beer.

My only hope is that my fluent spanish can save me some money in the long run. But I do expect to make newbie mistakes. With your help and the help of other BMs, maybe I can reduce those mistakes a little.

I'm in CR until the 20th but probably not in San Jose the whole time. I'll be in San Jose for at least 3-4 more days though before I go check out the beaches and volcanoes and other stuff. Yes, I do believe in a balanced vacation....whatever that means.

Best exchange rates question...you say banks....how about ATM's, would that be the same rate, realizing I might get charged fees for the machine use, plus possible fees from my own bank?
