It's my annual Fall Break! I take off three days every year of Thanksgiving week and therefore get a 9 day vacation! Basically have nothing planned or booked except checking into Sportman's Lodge on Friday 23rd. Roger Water's is playing Saturday night. Anyone ever scalp tickets for a concert at the Estadio Nacional? Would also love to fish offshore while in the country so am looking for anyone interested in splitting a charter.

You should check your dates. Thanksgiving is the 4th Thursday of Nov, not the last Thursday. Most years its the same, this year it matters. Thanksgiving is the 22nd. For your 9 day plan to work you should be checking in a week earlier.

I will be at SL week of Thanksgiving, arriving Monday. Never been offshore fishing, might be up for new experience.

Is roger waters really playing in Costa Rica?

Roger Waters is playing Estadio Nacional on Nov 24. I'll be in SJ, I looked for tickets -Sold Out. Ticket Re-sellers such as seat geek had tickets for $600 - $800 each! I'm sure there are better ways to find a ticket than the US based re-sellers, but I don't have the expertise to find them.

If you are thinking a concert in Costa Rica will be up to the same Standards as a concert in the US, you will be sadly disappointed. The seating sucks, lighting sucks, the acoustics suck, it honestly felt like no one knew what the hell they were doing, also the venue is open air, so if it rains you get soaked. I worked stage crew for a major production for a couple of years after high school and knowing how things should be done and wrapped if rain might be possible, I was amazed nobody was electrocuted. I will never go to another concert at Estadio Nacional. Just getting to the venue, even in an Uber is ridiculous, we abondoned the ride and walked because traffic was so bad. If it looks like it is going to rain there are all kinds of vendors that do sell plastic panchos before you enter, but if it rains it sucks, as you sweat under the pancho and it gets quite
uncomfortable. Also the Stage setup was not even half of what the US production was that I had seen less than 4 months prior. Honestly the concerts that go on at the Hard Rock cafe in Cariari are much better and you have the availability of food and drink in a much more intimate setting. If you really want to see the concert and the ticket prices are that much you might want to look into renting the Penthouse at Crowne Plaza and take some binoculars, you will have a great view and be able to hear the whole thing. Easily able to accomodate 50+ people and you have a dance floor, jaccuzzi, rooftop decks, kitchen, 4 bedrooms, etc. You will need to be careful getting drunk and not falling down the spiral staircase though.
