The title says it all. The weather in Ohio sucks right now and I have to escape to some warmth. Little planning has gone into this trip but I am wheels up in about a week.

Headed to San Jose on January 13. Returning the 22nd. I'll be staying at the Sportsmens (sounds like I got one of the last non-Mansion wing rooms).

If anyone wants to catch a drink, let me know. Since this is a shorter trip for me (9 days) I am going to try to cram in as much fun in as possible. The only commitment I have is to be at the Sportmens bar for any Steelers playoff game, date(s) and time(s) TBD. Otherwise I will be out carousing probably bouncing between Poas, Theos, Taomina, HLH and the SL. I will also make the obligatory stops at the Del Rey and Key Largo.

If anyone knows of any other dive-type (think New York Bar, Piano Bar or Nashville bar) bars, let me know.

See ya in about a week

One of the joys of being retired :D

I did have to postpone the trip for a week as I caught a horrible head cold. Landing this Saturday at 1pm.

And I guess I don't have to worry about watching the Steelers play.

I will be at the SL for the first 4 days and then down to the Taomina.

And it's cold (chilly) here in CR now. 70° in the jungle (that's frigid here in the Caribbean northeast), literally freezing in Cartago (~32°) and chilly and rainy in Chepe (SJ).

I'm wearing long pants and thinking about socks!

I'm looking forward to the temperatures. I actually like it in San Jose when it is a bit cooler. I do hope the rain let's down a little.
