So Yosh, is the menu different than what they post on their website?

To my knowledge the Castillo has no website at this time.

The Castillo's menu is on the wall next to the kitchen.

Taken by context of his post, I believe Yosh meant that the chef at the Castillo will fix you whatever you want (and he will if he has the ingredients).

La Amistad's menu is on their website and it's the same in vida real.

Nobody mentioned the train! I have stayed in penthouses and 312 and I prefer the opposite side of LA away from train plus I like the cosy queen rooms. 302-306 I believe.

Also, was eating dinner with my novia at outside table and she went to get napkins or something and was verbally bum rushed and physically touched by 2-3 guys in the bar area. There were 6-8 mangers eating dinner and drinking. She was kinda bummed and I was a little surprised....usually men don't acost other guys dates at LA - but things change. Not a big deal...

This topic has been discussed. Some guys are just assholes with no respect. Not worth fighting about, though.

Hey JW,

No worries. Things change, it's all good...besides, I would never fight in Costa Rica or over a novia...
She actually suggested next time we go somewhere quiet for 2 nights versus LA. That's a good idea really.

We kind of like to do are own thing and not be bothered by other people...it's our own fault - LA is so damn easy plus when you have wingman and friends traveling with you...

I'm happy for the LA...it's just metamorphasizing and changing with the times...I'm clearly not adapting as good as I used too!!

Along the same lines, I have been to CR so many times with other guys, new guys, it's kind of getting old (not you Redman).

I'm starting to realize I should split my trips into "my time" and "guys time" problem solved!

I only have about 10-20 good years left for mongering!  tick tock...

I hear you about the clock ticking, it's important to enjoy every minute. I suffer less fools as I get older. I don't know, but I will find out, Hotel Castillo may be be better to take a novia for dinner.

And you are right, not worth fighting anyone in CR, unless your life is at stake. As a gringo, you will go to jail.

Last time I stayed there, I actually downgraded my room when I got there. Realised that I didn't need all that extra space since I'd hardly be there and the other rooms I looked at were really good too. When you arrive, just ask to look at all of the available rooms and make your decision then. From what I saw, there is really no 'standard' room. Each one is unique. So you may prefer the layout of one room over the size of another.

Same here. The penthouse with the winding staircase is cool but I also did not need that much space. Also, I feel like you get a bit more street noise up there with the huge wall of louvered windows. However, it is a good value. All the rooms at LA are a good value.

They do not have a menu listed on the Website. The Castillo Hotel you're looking at is the wrong one.

The menu at the Castillo fits on an 8" x 11.5" paper. Very limited. Actually, disappointing. It will grow over time though.

I like the train. It is much more "Costa Rican." Get the full culture effect, but I liked the peace and quite of room 305; the opposite side.

I'm home now (USA). Listening to all the drunk people walk by. It's quite entertaining with a sober mind...lol

Unless you're fighting another gringo, the cops will first laugh their tails off at the crime of two aging gringo's fighting over a hoe, then they will suggest a on the spot "fine" for both of you for making them take their time and trouble to investigate the call...

And if you blather "But she's my novia and he grabbed her booty..." they'll laugh even harder that an old gringo is fantasizing the well paid hoe is his ever lovin' g/f, they'll just fine you more than the guy who was just a rude dimwit..."

You guys are funny. Hopefully we are all lovers and non fighters....

Just guessing here, but my guess is guys that are full of testosterone generally don’t hangout with us mellow mongers at places Like at LA.

However, I would like to think a large majority of membership here are the smarter monger who wants to avoid any type of public problem and just pays the toll and slips away post haste.

Most, not all, are married and or have public careers.

Gettting in a fight or causing trouble in CR I don’t think ever benefited any gringo!
Ymmv.
