I was thinking of making a short weekend trip to CR Superbowl weekend (Thursday, Jan. 29th to Monday, February 2nd - taking the red eye back to Ft. Lauderdale at 2:13 a.m. - and go to work the next morning). Jetblue @ $225 RT from FLL and back.

Any advice on those that have been there for the big game in the past? I was thinking I could watch the game, get in a pluck, and then taxi it over to the airport in time for my 2 a.m. flight before I start work at 8 a.m. (or should I just leave early in the morning and call in sick ).

My goodness...$225? That's beautiful. As for calling in sick? Absolutely you should. I wonder how many people in the States actually make it into work on the Monday following the Super Bowl? I still can't figure out why that game isn't played on a Saturday.

The Monday after the Super Bowl has the highest work absentee rate of any day in the year. Also the day with the greatest number of calls for domestic violence (sad but true).

There are a number of venues who have packages or specials on Super Bowl Sunday, including SL and the HDR. Best to arrange a date in advance if you want to "pluck" before kickoff.

I went last year - once was enough.
