Good Morning fellow Mongers.
Just booked my flight and my reservation at HLH for June 7-16. Looking forward to meeting new friends and experiencing the "culture"

I will be relying on some of the veterans to advise and show me the ropes.

Best Regards

Dan

Hey FR - how old are you? Any monger trips before? Do you speak Spanish? Are you into gambling? Just a few questions to help.

Hey 7,
I am a Costa Rica newbie. I do have some minor mongering experience in a few Caribbean countries in the past. I am in my early 40's and have been known to "Let it ride" on a few occasions. Except for basic tourist Spanish, I hope that someone will be able to translate my affections towards the Chica's when I get to HLH in June.

Sounds like we have some things in common. I'm in my early 40's as well, I do like to gamble, and I've been on like 9 trips in 2 years or something like that. Anyway, I've been to HLH, sessioned there, but never stayed there. My impression is that it will be a great place for you to stay, especially for a first timer.

The action there at HLH is very reasonable, especially if you're staying there and you're a CRT member - which you are right? It will pay for itself on one trip. Also, the action there is pretty idiot-proof / drama-proof due to the way they have it set up - if you pick up one of their girls you pay the bar a set price so that just makes things smoother, especially if you're not great with Spanish.

They supposedly have some eggs & legs special - I forget the exact details but it's like a cheap session and breakfast so that's nice too. Also, it's just a nice laid back atmosphere in there. My only complaint is sometimes it seemed to get stuffy when I've been there...might have just been me. It's a little on the small side - the bar area.

You will get to know Boyd who's like the owner or manager or something there - great guy. You can bet on sports right there with him too which is nice.

You will want to check out Sportsmen's Lodge for a change of pace at least to check it out - especially at night. Also you'll definitely need to check out HDR (day & night) and Key Largo at night. There are casino table games & slots at HDR and there are several casinos around there.

You should check out some of the other MP's like Idem & Relax.

When negotiating with an independent girl - some guidelines I use are:
$60 - 80 for daytime
80 - 100 for night

Above is for like one time / one hour. Sometimes, I try for multiple times, multiple hours, etc so it slides a bit...A lot of guys would say I'm way high on that scale, but whatever, that's just me.

It's a sliding scale of course depending on many factors, but you really don't need to go over 100 and certainly most chicas, even the 10's will go for 80 or 90.

Good luck - let me know if you have other questions.

Peace

Yes, I would say you are high if you are talking one pop, especially for the 100 for the hour, but on target or low if you are talking about longer seesson The whole problem that guys have long had with the great "cien" debate, is not that someone is paying 100 bucks, but that someone is paying 100 bucks for very short time expereinces. We used to play this game at the the Del Rey. We would look at our watches and see how long it would take for chicas to come back down. More often than not, many of these short time sessions (an hour, in other words) would last for under 30 minutes (and sometimes a lot less). It is actually far cheaper to pay a 120 bucks, for example, for a few hours than 100 for an hour, in that your total number of sessions would decease over the course of the trip. Also, a chica that focus on being in and out as quick as possible does not provide the type of service I am interested in (patient GFE/PSE mix). If a chica knows she is going to stay a few hours or over night, than she knows there is no need to get you off as quick as possible (unless she is a clock watcher and liar, and then will try to get you off and leave- interviewing is key).

Does this mean that I will always keep a chica for the full amount of time? Of course not, but I want her to leave on my terms, no hers. I would much rather get a chica for a TLN and then ask her to leave if I want to sleep alone that night. However, if I pay 120 bucks for a few hours, two or three leches, and am totally spent, I am less likely to want to session again than I am after an hour. So, for me, negotiating longer sessions is more fun and cost effective.

Hank has the right idea on the amount of time spent with a chica for the money. I like to find the girls that like to hangout as well as get naughty with me, feels more like a date vs just getting a nut. I do let them know up front though if I buy them a drink, and I do not want to leave right away, then if she decides she can make some money with someone else to go for it, and I will not be upset. It seems to work for me and other than the girls at HLH most of my sessions were 2-3 hours and paying 60-80 for that kind of service. The other thing that is probably worth mentioning is that I treat the girls nice and with respect, until they give me a reason to put my foot down and tell them to leave. Anyway I will be at HLH from the 11th thru the AM on the 18th and will look for you at HLH.

This is what I have learned so far and I have never been to Costa Rica.
1. Keep an open mind
2. Relax and enjoy your surroundings
3. Don't judge a book by its cover
4. Its all in the interview
5. Smile and be polite to these ladies and perhaps a good time will be had.

I am 19 days, 21 hours from my first vist to HLH ( but whose counting) and I am looking forward to the whole experience, not just the Chica dance. I trust that after all the reading on this forum (which is great by the way ) I can contest that the information herein, has somewhat leveled by expectations and therefore makes me a better newbie tourist, and that, I must thank everyone in this forum. :D

These guys who pop 2-7 times a day, god bless you, but I would rather pop once with a great girl then 5 who are all pro and watch the clock.

Thanks
