So i am planning my first trip to CR and i am very excited, not my first trip doing this kind of thing though. I had two friends that went a couple months ago but i couldnt go with them and i have have been kicking myself ever since. This is a last minute thing for me so i am going solo. I plan on staying at the Del Ray for a couple nights since its my first time. If anyone is willing to meet up and drink with me that would be cool.

I dont have any reservations yet as i am still waiting on final word on when i will start my vacation, i work in Afghanistan and its the Afghan way to do things last minute. Will i have problems getting reservations at the good spots?

probably, it's hard to get in at the popular spots last minute, but maybe they will have a cancellation

I would look at the Hotel sponsors on the website, like the Dunn, the sportsman, la amistad, etc....and send them some emails explaining your situation.

some of them may even respond here to this thread.

but try sending them emails for sure.

I bet you can get in to the Hotel Castillo. I'm typing this there right now. I just showed up, without any reservation, and they had several rooms to choose from.

thanks for the tip werewolf but i think bktuna is going to take care of me. I am still waiting on my visa but i am told that i should still be on schedule to leave next week. Hopefully i will get to spend a night in dubai before i head back to the states so i can check some places out.

My first trip also. My wingman and I would love to throw a few beers back at the Blue Marlin, while we oggle in utter fascination at what lays in store for us.

Well i finally made it out of Afghanistan and i have a nice vacation planned. I will be in CR on the 14th, i have booked two nights at the SL to start with and i will see where it goes from there. I will be in CR for a week but i will probably head down to the beach for a couple days.

I get in Dec 16th staying at the SL for a week. First trip and solo as well. I'll be at the SL bar around 2pm on the 16th if you want to grab a beer...
