Anyone want to spend a day or two fishing out of Jaco or Quepos between March 30 and April 3?

Hey man,

I was in Jaco and Queos in early Jan, before things really get hot as far as fishing. Went fishing out of Jaco, caught 3 really nice sails and 3 nice dolphin. A couple of days later I drove south to Quepos and found I could have save $400 on a full day. Jaco has a big fancy marina with all the comforts of home. Quepos doesn't have that kind of set up, YET but they are building it as we speak. I suspect the prices will go way up when it is completed. In Quepos right across from the beach is a tour company that can hook you up with the trip and like I said it was $400 less than what I paid. Although saving money isn't worth it if you don't catch fish.

I went on a 35' Hatteras called the Sailfish. Capt Bill. Suppose to be one of the best producing boats in the area. Nice guys. Bill is an expat and has been fishing the area for 25 years or so. We headed out of Jaco to the south west so we were kind of heading toward Quepos any how. YMMV

If you are in Quepos for any length of time you should try diner at the Gaia Hotel up the hill in Manuel Antonio. 5 star resort with one of the best sunset ocean views I saw the whole trip. Food and service is excellent.

Six of us booked a full-day on a 37' sportfisher out of Quepos on March 30th. Unfortunately, we are two-blocked with fisherman for this trip, and can't squeeze in another angler. I recommend you get to Quepos a day early, and spend an afternoon shopping for a boat. With the drop-off in tourists, I've been told there are a number of boat owners and captains willing to make a deal.
