We are planning a week long stay in Jaco in late April. After spending three days in San Jose what would be the best form of transportation to the beach. Would it be advisable to rent a car in SJ and drive to Jaco, keep the car for the week and return it to SJ, or arrange for some other transportation to Jaco. If so what would you advise? Thanks, Oldtimer

Try Interbus for $17. And when you come to Jaco, get in touch.

Depends on how many we are. If you are a group of 3 or more think you will be better off hiring a driver with a van and a cooler of beer. Will cost a little more but you can set your own schedule, route and pace.

I say rent a car if you got the money. I always rent a car but i love to travel around looking for waves and stuff. Jaco can get pretty boring in the daytime but if you have a car you can check out a lot of different things. However if you just want to sit and stay in Jaco you really dont need one I just love the freedom to roam.
