I land at 8PM so at what time should I arrive at The Presente Hotel and from there what should be my first stop? I am good starting from my first complete day. Thanks |

Jimmydr..... It will prabably take at least an hour to get through customs and immigration and make the cab ride to the Presidente, and prabably another half hour to get settled into the hotel, so you are prabably looking at 9:30 pm or 10:00 pm until you can hit the ground running. I would say that you should go to the Blue Marlin inside the Hotel Del Rey, since that is ground zero for the action, and it is fairly close to the Presidente. By all means though, in the following days you should branch out to all the other places. Don't think the Blue Marlin is the only place. Zebra |

Zebra is giving good advice Jimmy. Check out the Key Largo across from the Del Rey. Nothing like the Chicas dancing and showing off the goods. Looking forward to hooking up with you.............. |

I was reading this board last year but my trip was cancelled. I have printed out maps and recommendations and will be ready on Sunday. I just didn't want to waste the first night there. |

Jimmydr, If this is your 1st trip to CR, make sure to take a taxi at night. Brush up on your español before you go. It'll definitely help. In addition, pay the $39 CRT membership fee, and get your CRT card. The discounts will pay for the card over and over. Plus, it helps support this site, with all the work that is required to run it. I'm sure you realize, after 18 months of reading, that this website is definitely worth it. Good luck & have fun. Mikey B. |

Hey JimmyDR, good to see you here. I have always enjoyed your reports on WSG. If i understand correctly, you arrive on a Sunday night, which will limit you a bit. The Blue Marlin and Key largo will of course be open. Other night centers, like El Pueblo will be as dead as McKinley's funeral. You might consider also looking around at the Monkey Bar and New York bar, very near the Del Rey. Also, an escort might be a nice touch. Most of the tico nightclubs will be open, although you might need to call ahead to verify this. There will be plenty to do. Man, I envy you. Wish I could join you in San Jose! |

Jimmy, I usually like to hit one of the MP's first since they're "fixed price". That way when I go to the BM, I'm less apt to think with my little head and wind up lax in my negotiations. You're getting in fairly late so most of the MP's will be closed (though you could still go to IDEM). And, since that might be your only pop for the night, you probably will just want to go to the heart of the action. Besides since, you're experienced dealing with hard edge dominicanas, you're probably not too likely to fall prey to the cien colombianas anyway. BTW, if you don't have my latest map, which may have had significant improvements since the last time you were here, PM me. It is normally reserved just for VIP members here but I make exceptions in cases like yours where a guy has made other significant contributions to the mongering community. (You'll owe me a Sosua tour though if I ever make it over there) ![]() |
