Ok I've never been to CR but would love to from all I've read. Question though...I've heard October/November is not as good as other times of the year...maybe because of rain season. Is that true? Does that effect the quality and number of ticas at the Del Rey? |

It is considered the "slow"season right now, but you will never be alone! The 3rd week in November usually kicks off the tourist season. You will always find that the ratio of chicas is still higher than the chicos. Don't worry. As for the quality in the Del Rey, always a hit and miss situation. Some days better than others.... |

Would slow season be also around now? I'm going to be in cr from nov 8-15. Can anyone recommend anything I should do besides mongering? I was planning on hitting up club vertigo and maybe the national muesum. I would like to do one day trips. Preferably rafting and biking. Any suggestions. I would also like to take one day eco trips also. Any suggestions. Also looking ay weather.com. It seems like its going to rain everyday. Is there a rainy season. sigh. |

Les, I have done the ATV riding in the mountains as well as the Canopy tour (zip lines). Both are extremely fun. I haven't tried rafting (i'm a total puss ![]() As far as day trips, I hear the 4-in-1 is very good. It's about $80-90/person. These day trips can be kind of pricey. It may be cheaper if you can get a few guys together and hire a good driver (Gustavo at SL) who would take you to see whatever you'd like for cheaper. Day eco-trips are fun with a cool chica at your side for the long drive to and from. I always enjoy seeing the sights, but it didn't work out this trip. I will hit the trips during SB weekend. Enjoy. -Orange |

It often rains a couple of hours in the afternoon but usually not all day. Just do some of your touring in the morning. Most hotels have tourist desks that offer tours to do various things. Costa Rica is an inrcedible country. If you want to get out of San Jose and see some of it definitely do it. Max or Menos the supermarket chain around downtown has umbrellas for about $4 so just grab one if you forget yours and have a good time.rbc100 |

I was thinking about wearing a poncho and waterproof pants. I hate umbrella I will most definitely not let the rain ruin my trip but, it would be a major pain in the butt. Thanks RBC. les |
