First thanx to all for posting so much useful information. The sheer volume and quality are daunting. I've been coming for a couple weeks july 12th-25th. I wish I'd had more time to prep but life issues (moving and a new job) have been distracting me and came just as this trip came into formation. Spanish is probably going to be my largest problem. I've been trying to cram and it's not working to well. The pimsler method would be great but it doesn't seem to have flair or teach me a good vocabulary for mongering. I've seen a few posts and lost them and searching doesn't bring them up if anyone can point me to them....? My buddy is having a bachlor party we've booked the master suite @ El presidente for the weekend and are thinking having the event in. Does anyone have suggestions for getting food (ie catering) and any interesting ideas on gathering ticas for the event? or is touring the gulch the answer? A great deal of posts mention gifts for the ladies...What seem to be the most appreciated items? After the 17th I want to head off to the beach...I've been thinking Samara it seems more peaceful than say jaco, and more english friendly but still has some mongering potential at mangoes and on the beach. I read a thread on it but there was no real description of the place tica ratings etc does anyone have any more information and/or a place they feel might be better for a lone guy traveling looking to appreciate nature, write and generally relax by the water with the mongering option? Thanx Kindly for all input, SG |

Do not know the policy of the Presidente but as rule hotels do not allow outside catering. |

Catering won't be your biggest problem at the Prez. Unless they have a different policy on parties (which I doubt) you are only allowed 1 girl per guest. She must show her ID and the guest must sign her in at the front desk. As long as each guy brings 1 girl and signs her in, it can work. |

I wouldnt worry about not knowing very much Spanish. Its pretty easy to communicate what you want with most of the girls and theres always a few around that can speak good english. most of the time it goes like this: Girl : Hello you want company? you:Si you: how much? Girl:100 You:how about 50? Girl:Where you stay? You: Presidente. Girl:OK. Pura Vida LOL Your going to have a blast. Surfdog |
