Is it just the guest fee? Do any of these hotels, flat out decline guest? I’m thinking of the four or five star hotels that are near Escazu. Or is it just the judging frowning looks. But nothing is illegal with women wearing scantily type clothing. The reason why I ask is because I cannot stay at the usual for hotels that make it easy for us. So I fear I’m faced with staying at one of the high star hotels (company trip). Just trying to figure out what is the worst that would happen if I brought in someone from Taoromina to a 4-5 star hotel such as the Hilton Garden etc

You should email the hotel and ask them explicitly what their guest policy is. If their response is positive, save the email in case you run into an overly exuberant desk clerk or security guard. Be sure you have booked for 2 people in the room. Most of the nicer hotels do not allow guests, some charge a high fee. Sometimes you can get away with just walking in with a conservatively dressed woman, sometime not.

I know this doesn't answer your question but get a response in writing from the hotel. This won't be the first time they have answered the question.

Perfectly said. I usually stay near the airport at the Marriott Hacienda Balen (mentioned it a couple times on this site) and they are all good with letting guests stay. It is surely a 4+ star hotel and acceptable for business travel surely.

Four-star hotels, near the airport and allow guests?
