Will be going for 9 days with 2 other fellas. We are unsure what the best plan would be. We are vets in DR and know the ins and outs but not in CR.

I read about Sportsmans and sounds like that would be a stop but think we would get bored after 4 days. We're thinking Jaco but after the crap beach reports and upped $$ maybe shying away from that area.

SO my question is for vets of CR. If you knew what you have learned on your first trip what would that look like for 9 days. We are chasing the tail and looking to do some day trips and fishing as well to break up the chasing tail and if we had a good beach that would be ideal.

Thanks, in advanced (I have been reading as well on the forum so don't berate me for the question haha)

It would look like Medellin.

Stay at Sportsmen's, meet other guys, get advice and recommendations, or Castillo (get the all inclusive small upcharge for food and drinks) or Taormina, where the hoz are.

Visit Monica's and Oasis.

Go to Taormina after 8 pm.

Generic Viagra at all pharmacies cheap and no prescription needed.

Consider Tinder or Skokka or Wilas (dot com on these, CRT dissolves them if printed out correctly...

If you want to fish, I guess Jaco is the place to go, then you can check out that scene and pay $150 to $200 for the same girls you will see in San Jose after the weekend for $80 to $100.

Jaco beach is a rat infested garbage dump sh*t hole in hell, For beaches consider Manuel Antonio on the Pacific side or Puerto Viejo on the eastern Caribbean side, lots of ganja over there, be leery at night both places, moreso PV...

Don't talk to strangers, keep your wallets in your front packets, don't get sh*t faced drunk in public or with a ho, keep your money and valuables in a safe or locked with real lock suitcase, always take Uber and taxi's at night, even short distances, and when you get back home, don't think you fell in love and start sending money to a ho...

That's all I got... 8)

Jaco……fully Americanized with prices much higher for the same babes you do here in SJ. Filthy beaches. Stay in SJ and go to one of the nice beaches with a ho to see some real Costa Rica.

I personally have never found myself bored in Costa Rica 8)

Start with 3 days in SJO, then day 4 catch a ride down to Manuel Antonio area, I know they have fishing charters also down in Quepos and it's a much nicer and safer area than Jaco not sure where the fishing is better or more available that's just not my thing.

I will not say there is no P4P in Quepos area but very limited, I have been told it can be done but you will need to speak fluent Spanish and it will be much harder to find, but MA is a beautiful area with lots of good food, beaches, a National Park and bars.

IMO this would be a great way to break up your 9 day trip.

I would then recommend finishing up your last 3 days back in SJO and you can look into some day trips booked thru SL or other options.

I suggest waiting until you're a couple of days into your Sportsman's Lodge stay. Play it by ear. If you're bored, it's not hard to change things up. If you're having fun, you're all set!
