Hey everyone - me and my buddy just booked a trip to San Jose over Thanksgiving holiday and staying at Taormina again. It's been 4 years since we have been and just wondering how things are these days around San Jose and is it still decent over Thanksgiving holiday. Last time we were there was over Thanksgiving holiday, and it was business as usual. Thanks for any helpful advice!!!

The sportsmens usually has an awesome Thanksgiving dinner. The Holiday itself should not impact any other activities in San Jose.

The US holiday designated as Thanksgiving has no special significance in Costa Rica, just another Thursday.

Chicas that frequent the gringo hangouts will know, but only care in how it might affect their calculation of how many gringo targets will be in town. My experience, same as any other weekend.

There is lots of great football that weekend. Which chicas know draws gringos. They hate being ignored while we watch football. But know eventually we will look for different entertainment.

The Thanksgiving weekend and into December is always a prosperous time of the year for the hobby as many chicas are out looking for Christmas $$$. Many true part timers are out mingling looking to score some cash. Anytime in CR is better than the desert here, but the Thanksgiving/early December time in CR is as good as it gets based on my experience.

Actually Thanksgiving is a good time to visit. There are more mongers and as a result more putas working. They know it's a holiday. Good, overpriced turkey meal at SL, but try the local food....you are in Costa Rica.

The price at the SL for the Thankgiving feast could very well go up due to turkey shortage in the states. I eat turkey from the deli at United Super Market in Texas and they have not had turkey for two months until yesterday. They said it was because of a bird flu--so if you even get turkey for Thanksgiving at the SL be Thankful.

that is true @Asco1410 I didn't even think about the turkey shortage or price being higher at SL but we will deal with whatever to be in CR

Due to the turkey shortage, this year they will be serving iguana. Had it once in Mexico, it's not bad.

Iguana tastes like chicken, as opposed to a lot of things in CR that taste like fish.

I would be interested in any opinions on a trip to San Jose or Medellin from Dec 20-28.

I typically visit San Jose in March, June and over Thanksgiving but have also been to Medellin in summertime.

Thanks, Hope everyone is well!
