What is that number one rule again? (which I knew before going to the CR?) Don’t fall in love with a Tica on your first trip. Answer – Easier said than done! More specifically restated, where is the worst building on earth to find a lasting and meaningful relationship? Answer - Cocal Hotel & Casino in Jaco; Second Answer – Easier said than done! Had a great 3 days in Jaco – best three days of my life! Girlfriend (same one) for entire stay, meals, touristy things, being together, other stuff, yes you can find that type of woman at Cocal but what happens when you get home? Answer – your brain starts to go loco – can I text her? No bad timing, she’s probably waiting in line to get in Cocal. How about 7 PM? No, probably talking to guys then. 8 PM or 9 PM? Do definitely not, doing other things….mind going crazy….need 6 weeks of therapy – so factor that into the cost of the trip – that will cost way more than the Jaco trip! So would I and am I going back and see my same ‘girlfriend’ the entire time…well… Phuck yes!...why? because it’s the most powerful drug in the universe – love or caring for someone or starting to – all derivations of the latin term ‘Amor’ BUT it has huge side effects when you come back down from the drug back in the states. Is the recovery worth it? I think? Will things work out? Maybe … if there’s a parallel universe but this universe is pretty unfair. So I guess the takeaway is if you have a ‘girlfriend’ in or after your trip to Jaco, great for you! Just factor in the therapy costs and the detox. P.S. – I got the number of my driver who drove me to the airport – closer to my age, within 10 years, super hot…no I remembered she said she goes to Cocal on weekends – Phuck, strike Two! P.S.S. – Back to browsing SilverSingles.com like I did before the best 3 days of my life – man these old U.S. women are sure FUGLY! What is the Spanish word for a Kathy with an attitude, eats fast food, overweight, doesn’t work out, could care less how she looks ….. maybe cathigrossio? |

Um, here's how to look at it. You watch a movie, it's a love story. You find yourself falling in love with the actress. Keep her number, don't make contact with her until a few days before you are to return. Got it guys and that's what I thought the advice would be and I don't disagree with the advice. I guess I just felt sorry for this particular woman more than anything so maybe Cocal isn't for me. One follow up question - I did meet 3 ex-pats who are married to Ticas - and 2 used the term 'Tica' - when they use that term, does that mean their spouse may have done that line of work at some point but now is married, or does 'Tica' refer to any Costa Rican woman? |

Tica=Costa Rican Woman Tico=Costa Rican Man Ticos=Costa Ricans Nica=Nicarugan woman It is very likely that the wives were ex pros or semi pros. It is not like the US where there are hard core prostitutes. These marriages often work out fine, even if at some point in their lives they may have been paid for sex, if only to support their baby or their families or to finance an education. And remember, any woman here is probably available for sexo, even the hottest bartenders, but it may be really expensive. |

What I have discovered is not all American men who come here are looking for hoz like us. Many are surfers, hikers, nature lovers, many have business here, working for companies here, investors, all kinds of non monger legitimate reasons. I have observed most of the successful marriages, and more often than not, it's older guys 50's and 60's, with women in their 30's and 40's, not our 20 something bunnies. Usually the ones I know, they met these ladies outside the San Jose area in towns all across Costa Rica, or working for the same company, or worked with a company that works with their company, usually met professionally, and these Ticas have never been hoz...at least not to gringos, lol. Not a one I know has met their Tica wife in San Jose, for what that's worth. Now then... The gringos I know who married hoz... 1. Monger, 70's, ho 20's old Zona Blue ho, after 90 days left him, moved in with b/f, filed for divorce and something about 90 days allows them more of a financial claim on the chump, this one was kofefe ugly and scrawny as well. Got the condo and a wad of cash, he flew home never to return. 2. Monger 50's, ho 20's, driving home one day slow, dead end street, she said she's going to injure herself and tell cops he beat her, she jumps out of slow moving car he is driving, hits the ground and rolls getting bruises, he watches... He gets scared, runs to the airport, back to Florida, she claims car, possessions, joint CR bank account, other goodies, years later he had to pay her a couple grand to accept divorce, drop charges and paid a CR lawyer to work it all out. Here's the best part...after getting the divorce he comes down, stays at SL, first night looks over the available hoz, yeppers, there she is...she keeps staring at him, been years, he's now bald and fatter, but she smells something, she leaves her bar stool and starts heading towards him, he retreats to his room fast, spends the night in his room alone, and leaves SL and goes to HDR the next morning, lol. By the way, she initially approached his lawyer and offered sex to trick him into coming down before any of this was legally cleared, the charges, and really be able to clip him. G*d looks out for drunks and fools, he was a clean lawyer, refused, still worked everything out with her lawyer. When he told me, I said I would have taken her at SL for the night, hasn't he ever heard of revenge fkkkin? That would be the mother of all revenge fkkks, no other fkkk in his life would ever equal it, he blew it again, lol...  3. Years ago, Gulf war, guy 40's, ho 20's, he wants to give her everything so he gets dangerous truck driving job for contractor to military in Iraq, making over 100k, sending her the money, she's living in the love nest he bought for her, he's dreaming of her while dodging bullets and bombs. She moves her Tico b/f in and tells mutual friend she's hoping he dies over there so she can get the loot, the house and the life insurance. Friend tells him, he doesn't want to believe it. Another friend finds out, takes clandestine pictures of her and bf outside house in and out of their cars repeatedly and sends to him and tells him, he wises up, but loses cash and the house. 4. Guy 50's, older ho, 30's they move to the USA, she turns out to be big alcoholic, constant fighting, they separate, he still wants her back, she goes to work for a strip club, giant naturals, still amazing hot for 30's, tiny tiny waist, big tits n ass, gorgeous face, makes big money, more than him, stripping and fkkn' n blowin' johns in champagne rooms and developing private clients, she's taking in 100k a year, mostly unproven, she claims poverty, divorce, takes him to the cleaners. I can personally testify to this, I saw her at the strip club and got a couple lap dances, lol She knows me from CR, she likes me, she gave me great lap dances, offers to ho with me at my place for discount because we're pals, wants me to take her to S Beach for a weekend and hang at nude section of the beach and drink all day then party at discos and later fkkk all night. I decline, trust me, I wanted to, but little things like that can irritate your friendship with your buddy if he finds out and she would probably tell him to irritate him, she now hates him... 5. Multi millionaire friend, the worst of all, ho 40's, him 60's now 50's/70's, nasty looking little mole face shrew giant gross fake tits, scrawny, after some years of faked marital bliss, she becomes nasty, no more fkkkn, plenty of non stop spending, bitching and demanding, his life a nightmare in hell, years of no sex and him (or so he says) not mongering other hoz. Now going through divorce, she'll cash in over a cool mil...his cool mil... Are you new guys posting that you fell in love with a ho reading this? Print it out, fold it up, carry it around, pull it out a couple times a day and read it when you're with your true love ho...

Thanks Netgems for the detailed (and scary) stories of Ticas, several of whom sound like my ex-wife in the U.S. ! I also agree with you that if I come back next trip as a celibate monk I would still have a blast with all the country offers!
