I am in a Facebook group for CR. There was a post by a woman on there today who said she was drugged while sleeping with Devil's Breath. It was administered as a powered they blew in her face. I had no idea what that was but did a google search. I didn't find much other than some confirmations that it has been around in Central and South America for years. One report did claim that the people it was used on would fit the monger profile. I have seen be careful reports on here about watching your drinks, etc. What's the real story and experience both as tourists and mongers in CR?

Always carry some Devil's Breath Mints, preferably spearmint. I think they carry them at the SL desk if you ask for them. If they are out, Russ should have some.

Although not specifically about CR, this applies

It is scopalmine...it is around the world, but commonly seen in Colombia, Ecuador..

I personally know people who have been victims of it, although having it blown in your face may be more of an urban legend. Normally it is slipped into a drink. The dosing is critical, too much and you're dead, too little and you are not as compliant as the criminals want.

And the criminals are typically fronted by a beautiful woman you meet in a bar in Poblado or on la Setenta (Medellin). If the dose is right you can still function almost normally, but it screws with your memory and your will...and you become very compliant to the suggestions or demands of the criminal(s) giving up your pin numbers or passwords for your money. My buddy that was scoped walked around looking almost normal, went to his favorite bar, but his behaviour was enough off that one of his friends actually tried to intervene - but that didn't work out. He lost some money, and some possessions...don't know how much.

1) Don’t drink in a foreign country!

2) Problem solved https://nightcapit.com/

But, really, start with #1 and you won’t have that problem

I've been watching it but stopped, because its' annoying when I really don't know how much of it is fictionalized. My enjoyment factor comes a lot from watching something I know went down.

Yes but you will die from dehydration or maybe boredom first.

Jajaja, like after my doctor removed a stomach tube from surgery, he told me not to drink. I told him I don’t drink. He laughed and said I am not talking about alcohol.

The best way to prevent shit like that happening.. is to party in your rented building (not hotel/or bar) that has top notch security/protocol standards in place. I am not talking about underpaid night doormen who buzz you in. Unfortunately, I have never found such a place in CR.
