Post subject:  First Time in CR Questions

Hey all newbie here!

I'm planning an impromptu trip sometime next week. I'm super excited for it and have been doing some research to make sure I'm prepared for what's to come. For some context I’m in my mid-twenties, traveling alone and budgeting ~2-3K total for a weeks vacation. I live in NYC and am not completely unfamiliar with the world of mongering, but this is my first international trip like this.

I have a few questions for you guys and would love to hear about your experiences. I’ve spent a good amount of time researching this board and am super excited to explore this paradise.

1. What are the best days/times for mongering in SJ? Jaco?
I’m planning on allotting 3 days for SJ debauchery and 3-4 days of adventuring/hiking/surfing/eco-tourism. For those days I am thinking about staying in Jaco and Tamarindo. What are the best days to stay in SJ? It would either be at the beginning of my trip (Wednesday - Friday) or end (Monday - Wednesday). I’m thinking about staying at the Sportsman’s Lodge as some of those convenience + mansion wing suites look tough to beat. I am also a big fan of poker, so I will definitely be spending time in DR. Additionally, what would be the best days to stay at Jaco? Do I have to say at Cocal, or have people had good experiences in nearby places?

2. Would you recommend contacting a guide?
I consider myself fairly sociable (although I know very minimal Spanish) and don’t think I’ll have any issues meeting other travelers around San Jose such as yourselves. However it is a bit nerve-racking to monger in a foreign land and I do feel like I may have a better experience with some guidance. (I also have read that guides are great for finding the most beautiful chicas.

3. Excursions with a chica
It has always been a fantasy of mine to spend a day at the beach or on a boat with some beautiful latin women. Would it be worthwhile/safe to bring a chica I’ve met along on a boat trip excursion/or travel with to the beach? I’ve heard that there are no working girls in Tamarindo, but would it be possible to arrange for a girl I liked to come visit me there?

4. How reliable is skokka?
In my eagerness for the trip I started looking into ads online. Based on a post here I looked into the skokka site, and my goodness - some of these ladies are GORGEOUS. I've gone ahead and sent an initial message to a couple just out of curiosity. All have gotten back to me with pretty much the same cut and paste response with some rates. My question is how reliable are these ads? I know many people on this board have said it’s better to just go around and choose in person, but I have also read that quantity and quality can be lacking during certain times. During those times I would love to have some of these beauties come visit me.

5. Non-mongering travel
I would like to spend some time doing some non-mongering/eco tourism as well. Outside of it’s beautiful women, Costa Rica is known for it’s amazing hikes and beaches. For that part of the trip I would like the younger hostel experience as well where I can meet other travelers and go on some adventures. Does anyone have recommendations for places to stay to do these kinds of things?

I know that’s a lot of questions, but I didn’t want to spam a bunch of posts on the board. I figured it would be best to package them all into one. If anyone can give advice on any of these areas (or give any advice at all), that would be much appreciated. Thanks for reading through all my questions :)

Short answer, stay at Sportsman's Lodge, Wed through Friday. Play poker at the Hotel Taormina. Check out their website, big poker tournements regular there. Check out an overnight excursion with a girl to Manuel Antonio beach and National Park or to Arenal Volcano and hot Springs.

I don't advise booking over Skokka. Too many are bait and switch, age not verified, photos photoshopped, price not within the realistic going here. I don't advise booking tours before you get here and see what is available. Day tours are available with short notice.

Before agreeing to pay any girl over $100 for an hour you need to see her in person, know that she is of age, helps if she speaks English, and not bad to have been referred by at least one person who has been with her, preferably someone with similar tastes as yourself.

Mp girls, just pick the best looking one and test drive. For the price of half an hour you can't go wrong.

Travel -DO NOT travel with any chica until you have been with her several times!!!
Get the particulars down first rates expectations and phone use.

they are different areas of CR and you can easily book hotels, transport or a car to drive to any of those places yourself.
for a new guy the drive to MA is fun and Jaco is otw if you want to stop for lunch etc.
can always take a cheap ride on the bus if you don't want to drive
rental car is the best way cause the taxis and van transports get expensive

Got it, okay thanks. I was thinking he was mentioning a particular service where you "rent a girl" for overnight. But he was talking from the standpoint of, you already got the girl part of the equation down and just mentioning the possible places to go to with her.
