1. For U.s. nationals, a photocopy of the identity page/photo and arrival stamp are all that is required. Don't risk losing your actual passport...carry a copy. 2. Carry the ticket stub from your arriving flight. THis is additional proof that you have not overstayed your tourist visa. 3. A wallet-sized, laminated copy of your passport I.D. page and entry stamp is available for around U.S. $5.00 at a small shop, main floor, north side of Av. Central, a block west of the Hotel Presidente. Process takes about fifteen minutes, depending on the line at the counter of the print shop. |

Another thing to do is to have a second passport. You can ask for a passport that is limited to a particular country or two, in addition to your general use passport. |

If you are staying at the SL, they will make a color copy of your Passport free of charge. Also, keep with you a card of the hotel you are staying at. The hotel can also support your date of arrival. ![]() |

SinCity...you're correct. I stated the price in error...think I was thinking of something else...but you're right. It's less than $2.00 as of this writing. By chance do you remember the name of the print shop? I know it's in a little "mall" with two stories; upstairs is a small shop which will take the photos from your telephone or SIMM card and make prints for you...not cheap by U.S. standards, but affordable. I've used that store as well. . SinCity wrote: [ I've been goin to that joint for 14 years & u got fleeced if they charged ya $5.00. "Officially" the copy of your passport only gives you a reprieve until you produce your actual passport (if that is demanded by the authorities). Banks, shops, etc. may / will ask for the real thing also. |
