I am at the airport in San Jose debating if I should change my trip in september from Sosua to San Jose. Anyone have any Sosua experience? I am almost 100% sure, I am coming back to San Jose in September. This trip was with the old lady, and it was a phucking drag looking at all that fine costa rican ass. Any suggestions? Sorry if this is off topic. Been up since 3 am with a huge hangover.

I've been to both and each offer a unique experience. Sosua has the benefit of the beach within walking distance, and there is more of a party atmosphere at night, than in San Jose. San Jose has a crowd of visitors that is a lot more friendly, and is happy to share their knowledge as if you were an old friend. Both places you need to be aware of your surroundings though and use your head. Not everyone you meet has your best intrests in mind. Things are much cheaper in Sosua vs Costa Rica, but you will have a better time in Sosua if you speak some decent spanish. Personally I prefer to stay in Cabarete vs Sosua and when I want to go shopping head into Sosua. Honestly speaking spanish fluently, there are women all over that are willing to have some fun and if you have a little game, you will find plenty of waitresses, bartenders, cashiers, ladies walking the beaches, standing in lines at the grocery store, etc that will be approachable. Just use tact and don't act like a dick when talking to the ladies. Pay them a genuine complement on their shoes, color of their clothes, their perfume, not something about their tits or ass. If you are at the grocery store ask them something about what they have in their basket and what it is???? Stuff like that that opens the door then ask if they would like to get a beer sometime. This works best if you have a phone number in the DR also works in CR but you need to be a little more soft on your approach. Rarely would I crash and burn in DR, but quite often would crash and burn in CR, as they usually would say they had a boyfriend of husband.

Try them both. Each is different. DR will be cheaper. Good beaches, music and food in DR.

I'm planning a trip to DR from July 4-9. Not familiar with the island and I'm considering the possibility of heading to Blackbeard's Resort instead of Sosua if I can't find a wingman. My Spanish isn't great...

Both places are definitely different from my experiences as well. However, I started off doing Sosua and Blackbeards until I realized how much better CR is overall. I wish I had started in CR as it was so much better years ago when I first started venturing out in this game. I haven't been back in a few years for this reason in addition to flights being half the price to to San Jose (DR used to be cheap but now crazy high). But will venture back this year most likely as it was my first and want a change.

Sosua is small and an easy walk to everything and expect most of the women walking around being available as well. Which is kinda unique and cool. The DR girls are fun party girls from my experiences and Sosua has that vibe at night most definitely. Sosua, it's all search, negotiate, and experience hit or miss depending on the girl. Main place used to be Classicos, if that's still around believe it is and giant club pick up girls. I always enjoyed it there to some degree. Although I hear the online thing is kicking in nowadays. BB is just easy as can be as the girls are there during the day and leave at some point at night so will want to make sure have something lined up for later in evenings or overnight.

DR is cheaper overall unless you just do the pension in CR. To me, I've found overall better quality for my type of girl I like in CR. And I usually create the party in my room But definitely more darker girls or Haitian girls available in DR which is a nice bonus to shake things up. It's worth a try I think for something different and if you've never been. But really, the best in my opinion hands down is Colombia or even Panama at Habanos for the sheer number of available girls that are good looking in one place.

Stats, you really don't need a wingman at Sosua as it's a small place and other guys will be at some of the hotels there if you stay at the right ones. Plus, you have the CR under your belt now!! Also, without Spanish you can manage just fine as it's a "touristy" area and they're used to seeing the fellas on picking up on girls there. And the beach isn't like some white sandy beautiful beach in Sosua, you have to venture to other areas for that. But I come from Florida, so maybe that doesn't count.

For me hands down I would head to the DR. If it was not for family who live in Costa Rica I would be in the DR or Colombia. Costa Rica is still a fun place but for me I found the food was better and the people to be more fun. I learned to dance Bachata so I could hit the car washes, Yes Car Washes, late on Fridays and Saturdays to meet some very good looking women. Most of the time everyone there was shocked to meet a gringo that had the balls to pull in, have a few beers and dance for a few hours. Most of these meetings turned into next day get togethers as they did not want to be seen leaving with me that night as everyone would know what they were going to do. The absolute best plan though of getting a good looking woman who was not doing the P4P thing, was to invite her over to the house or condo for dinner. Seriously the look on their faces when I would tell them I wanted to have them over for dinner and I was going to cook, was shear surprise, as they obviously do not get that sort of offer from too many guys in the DR. The only draw back would be they would want to keep coming over. For the most part we never went crazy spending money on making dinner but we did have a shit load of alcohol ready for consumption.
