Are there any bars with chicas (not to the caliber of HDR or Cocal) in the area of the cruise ship port in puerta caldera puntarenas or close to that area? Looking to gonthat direction for a day or two. Change it up.

No there is nothing there of the caliber of HDR or Cocal. FYI that area is full of narcos so keep your eyes open and try not to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. If you do not have friends in that area I would be extremely careful after dark as well as you are going to stick out like a sore thumb.

I appreciate it. I know a ton of the girls live there but I figured they "live" not work. Trying to get some ideas

Years ago there were allegedly some small MP's for the locals off a side street by where everyone eats at the outdoor cafes close to the water, I drove by with someone who lived there before we went to eat, you would have to ask a local cab driver or if you're staying at a local hotel someone working there might know.

This is kind of a dead end nowhere, to call it a shit hole is to insult shit holes...best to get the ffff out of there, get an uber or bus down to Cocal, then head back when it's time to leave...

Puntarenas has been getting spruced up over the years being the port for all the cruise ships. Nice new water park for instance. Its more like the real costa rica. There are some decent bars restaurants around also. There used to be a few chica bars, one was called the green gate, porton verde and another filled with dominicanas.
Ask around i am sure there are some.
Its not a filthy dangerous hell hole, jaco fits that description. Good idea to try someplace different.

If you do not mind going a bit further south you might want to hit up Dominical or Uvita. You will find a lot of younger tourists usually part of the surf crowd but there are ample girls in the bars and even some working girls. Not the cream of the crop but there are some doable ones. If you want freebies with the tourist females the ones I saw would be fairly easy game if you are not shy and afraid to start a conversation or buy them a beer. I always got plenty of signals from the ladies even though I was with my girl.
