I wasn't interested in them and when they begged me to buy them a beer, I said no. After trying a few times, they left in a huff.
When I finally left with another girl, I realized that my pockets were light. I had my phone, my keys, a few receipts, and about $30 in colones in my front pockets. But when I left the Cocal, I had only my phone, keys, and $10 in colones. The sticky fingered girls had lifted about $20 in colones and my receipts. (they must have thought it cash why digging)
Thankfully they didn't get my phone or keys. And I had enough money still there for a taxi home. So not too expensive of a lesson. But an important one to learn.
Remembering back, I felt the girls tugging at my pants. But with fours hands at once and being a little tipsy, I didn't realize it until they were gone.
From now on, I will leave my phone at home and only have enough cash in my pockets for the few beers I plan on buying. And I'll always pay for each beer when I order them to avoid getting stuck with a bill I can't pay.
A lot of these girls are experts at pick pocketing, I have never picked up a girl who approached me and started doing this, so don't be a victim, don't be afraid to push them off with a loud NO THANKS exhibiting anger and hostility and get away. Most of the girls that are good pickups don't do this, most of the time they are up to no good. Not a bad idea to invest in one of those belt wallets or one that you keep under your pants with a zipper. Is there any good retired engineer mongers that think they can invent a mousetrap to put in your pockets?
