Coming to CR for first time will spend the week rafting and hiking but have one evening in SJ tomorrow (Sunday) and wanted to check out the scene. Given time restriction, thought just hit one strip club. Any advice on which one would be 'safe' for a newbie yet still happening late Sunday night?

Now this is I think quite different - am Indian in origin (have lived in US from childhood, so American essentially) - how much will I stick out? Will that help or hurt in any way? E.g. some of my Asian experience is that girls often prefer whites over browns by far.

Thanks in advance!
Tal

go to del rey, forget strip clubs, they are overpriced and give shitty rushed service.

del rey chicas can be as well, but you can find a good one. good interview should narrow it down, if they are rushing to go upstairs, drop them.

don't pay upfront, if they insist, send them packing with nothing.

some may prefer white or blacks or browns, but it's most green that counts

Thanks!

Some posts say HDR overwhelming for a newbie. Also - from HDR u still need to get a room either there or at an hourly nearby or get back to own hotel - more than what I want to tackle on my first visit - looking for a one stop shop so to speak and nightclub or MP seems like that more fits the bill, no? to keep things simple?

You don't have many options for a Sunday evening. You should not go to a strip club alone, especially since it will be your first time in San Jose. Your best option is the Del Rey; but if you are not comfortable taking a lady to your hotel or a short-term hotel, then that is out. If you are not drunk or mind-altered in another way, you should not be overwhelmed in the Del Rey. You will not be attacked in there, and "no" is the same in English and Spanish.

Thanks - HDR it is it seems, especially since it has a casino and I like doing some card games so will partake in that too. In case things go well, how do "upstairs" rooms work at HDR? Are they easily available, cost etc.? Or just go across the street to Morazian? Again how is availability at no notice?

Just curious - what's the risk at a SJ nightclub given I have been to strip clubs in the US? Understand very newbie question :-)

A room at HDR means every time you take a chica up they charge you $12 extra.
Take a room at Morazan and the girls will be no extra charge.
No problem with Desis in CR. Not like Tthailand where the Indians from India have given all Desis a bad name.
Do not let any girl take you to her place. You choose where you go and if you take a taxi do not take one outside the DR or one she chooses. Stand on the street and flag down a cab. Pay by the meter.
Do not pay up front always after.
You should find girls for between $60 to $100 per hour.
Do not try to go to a strip club alone. They are located in shady areas and are dangerous at night.

Call them - Link to Hotel del Rey website.

Supposedly calling direct gets you a better rate (never stayed there - the chica fee).

If you arrive at 9 PM, it could be close to midnight when you get in (variables are line at immigration, traffic, bridge construction). The Blue Marlin is open all night and there are chicas there all night (I don't know what the early morning shift is like).

There aren't going to be any MPs open that late - even if they are open on Sunday.

Again, advice is get a room on a higher floor (bar noise).

Strip clubs - you should PM Pops. I wouldn't go alone unless my espanol was fluent. It's that unexpected bill I'd worry about.
