| Post subject: | Heading to San Juan for the first time last week of June |
I am staying at the SL and have been reading up on the whole money thing. I was planning to pay for meals and hotel with credit cards. I see a lot of conversations about paying for hotels in dollars and meals in colones. Is plastic something I shouldn't plan on using to pay for some of my expenses? I realize for the ladies it is hard currency. Thanks! |

If staying in San Juan I don't know, but if staying in San Jose, Costa Rica I recommend paying for everything in Colones. Plenty of ATMs around. Less chance of getting over charged or CC number lifted. |

It is ok to pay for your room and food with a credit card at the SL. I always Use Colones or dollars everywhere else. |
