Hello all, I will be in SJO in a few weeks and wanted to really take advantage of a few days I have off and take a flight to Cuba. I have no idea how this works but have heard lots of ppl doing it, can anyone shed some light for me? Thanks |

Book your ticket and go. In the old days you would take euros instead of dollars and if you were flying from Cancun you would leave 50.00 in your passport when you came back into mexico and ask them not to stamp your passport. Also you would not bring back anything with you when you re-entered the USA you would mail it to yourself before you left Mexico to come home. All pictures on a memory card or any receipts would be mailed nothing to show you were in Cuba. Now that things have changed I am not sure if they would give you any grief about it. If you do get your passport stamped upon re-entry into another country, if its gets noticed on the return just tell them you took a bus to nicaragua or panama for a couple of days and they must not have stamped your exit...... With my smart ass comments though I would probably say I went to cuba and laugh while saying it...... Prove it. |

But surely there must be some sort of visa I need to get, or some issue with having a cuban entry stamp on my US passport, no? |

In the past they would not stamp your passport as they knew you were not supposed to be there but the like the money. The issue was usually on the return you would get another entry stamp but have no exit stamp most of the time they do not look that close at your passport anyway to notice a missing stamp |
