March 17 - 21, 2016 - is good to travel to CR? I heard they have some holidays in March and not recommended for travel. Please advice..thanks

Option A: 03/17 - 03/21 (2016)

OR

Option B: 03/31 - 04/04 (2016)

I read somewhere on the internet that everything is closed during their "Holy Week" which is sometime in March. Not sure regarding this, thats why if some experienced members can help.

I read somewhere on the internet that everything is closed during their "Holy Week" which is sometime in March. Not sure regarding this, thats why if some experienced members can help.

Answered that part in my FYI Holiday Travel thread so check over there. Holy week starts March 20th but the town is not going to shut down for 7 days. Maybe the super devout will spend a whole week in church.

Costa Rica is predominantly Roman Catholic. So the "Roman Catholic Observances" will yield good info.

Easter falls on March 27th in 2016, so you should be good with either of those dates.

Been to SJ during Semana Santa. The DR was slow on "good friday" nite, less than 50% capacity. Most guys don't come down during that week. It was 4-1 chicas to sausages. Had a great time :D
