Post subject:  Jako Hotel Recommendations - Halloween Weekend

I know I'm late in the game, but I just booked a flight to San Jose for Oct. 28th - Nov. 2nd. My thought was to spend the first night in San Jose, since my flight gets in after 10PM. I then planned to go to Jako for a couple of days and return to San Jose the night before my flight.

Since it's Halloween weekend, I'm having issues finding rooms. I was fortunate to get a room at HDR on the 28th. I haven't found any other places in San Jose with rooms the rest of my trip.
Now I'm looking for a place in Jako. Any suggesstions?

On a side note, would Jako or San Jose be better for Halloween?

My wingman and I also are arriving daytime on the 28th but then going directly from the airport to Jaco (pronounced like Hako'). We will return to San Jose Sat. am for the Halloween festivities there and fly out Sunday am.
MHO is that Thursday and Friday nights in Jaco beats San Jose hands down, especially if you are staying at the Cocal. However Halloween at the Sportsmans Lodge (and now also at Zona 2) is not to be missed.

Good luck with the hotel issue. You can probably book what used to be called Mona Lisa for San Jose.
Jaco may be very tight. I would contact One Lucky Dog or Puravida Tours as they have contacts and keep on top of what is available.

By the way we are looking for another party for an inshore fishing trip for Thursday or Friday out of Jaco. Cost for the day is only $149.

I appreciate the info! I called One Lucky Dogg, and he is putting together a package with hotel and transportation. I will check with my road dog on the fishing. We were thinking of doing an ATV tour out of Jaco.
