So after paying $400/hour to bang Latinas in the DC area, I somehow stumbled upon this incredible website and have been kicking myself for 2 days now. I have been missing out on this gold mine all this time?!?!

I will be upgrading to a VIP shortly, but have some questions first. I do thank you in advance for any direction you may give me:

1-I am about as white as they come. 37 years old, 6'4" and athletic. It seems like most mongers are older...how will I be received by the girls?

2-I am looking at a July 4 long weekend. Is this a good time for a CR trip? Is it hot? I do not want sweaty, swamp ass all week long.

3-I have been leaning towards booking at HDR...for the ease of things. I have read pages of forum info and have my mind set on HDR. Can anyone convince me otherwise?

4-Say I am in town 4 nights...and want to have 2/day, plus drinks and food. What kind of cash should I show up with?

5-I work for a world famous chocolate company in Pennsylvania (any guesses?) so I have access to tons of free chocolate. It appears like these girls orgasm at the site of free chocolate. Thoughts?

Thanks again guys. Finding this website is similar to the first time I saw internet porn in high school...equally excited. Haha!

1. you will be fine with the chicas
2. July can actually be quite cool in SJO. Rainy season is my favorite time of year
3. I highly recommend SL or LA
4. Your cash needs to be in pristine condition, no tears, no writing, etc. As to how much..that's up to you
5. Yes, the chicas like chocolate

Thank you to you both!

One more question...I am used to American DFK and MSOG. I get the feeling this is not the standard in CR? Can anyone confirm?

Thanks!

3. I would not stay at the HDR because of the quality of the chicas there. The last few times I've been in San Jose, I haven't seen more than one or two at any one time that I would want to be with. You also have to factor in the hotel fee for taking the chica to your room. It ends up close to $100, or more, for a quality chica. Although the quantity is less at the SL, the quality is better. SL, LA, and Zona2 are my recommendations.
4. You can figure the cost of the hotel by communicating with them. That should be a constant. If you plan to pick chicas from the HDR and/or the SL, budget $180 a day for chicas. If you plan to go to an MP for one session a day, budget $140 a day. I haven't been to the DC area in a long time, so I don't know the cost of food there. The food in San Jose is generally more expensive than in Florida. You should budget at least as much for food in San Jose as you would spend eating all your meals at restaurants in the DC area. Drinks at the SL and LA are cheaper than stateside - approximately $2.25 beer, $5-$6 mixed drinks. HDR is more expensive than the SL and LA, but I don't know how much. Depending where you stay and where you go, budget $5 a day for taxi. The chicas will walk between the SL and LA, unless it is raining; but taxis are required for the chicas between all other places. Just like any budget, you want to have a little working margin. It's better to return with money in your pocket than have to curtail your activities.
5. If you took a suitcase full of chocolate, you could give it all to the chicas and they would want more. It makes a good impression on the bartenders also.

Everyone here is going to tell you something different. We all have different tastes and desire's. I'm 52 and I've been an international sex monger for over 30 years now. You will fit in just fine. If you like to drink and eat a lot you may want to check out the all-inclusive package at the La Amistad hotel. I'm going there in 2 weeks. I have stayed at the sportsman lodge many times and I like it there very much. I have never stayed at the Del Ray, but that may be a great choice for you. Go with what you think will work for you and once your there go check out all the different hotels/mp's and restaurants.
No matter what, you will have a great time and you will meet many new friends and most of all, Welcome to the world of international sex mongering!!
P.S. You may want to check into a trip to S.E.Asia in the future. The world is your destiny..

GO easy on the drinking. Too many guys spend the first day/night getting shitfaced, and the next day or two recovering. You're not coming to drink, you can do that back home.

HDR is a good first-timer choice. But! Do not let it limit you. Hang out at SL and LA for food and camaraderie. You'll meet guys that'll show you around. Food at HDR is really overpriced.

I can easily burn $1,500 in a week, and that is without gambling. Yet some guys survive on less than $100 a day, so this is a TEHO topic. Bring what you can, in case the absolute perfect night shows up. If not, no biggie to take cash back home.

You don't need to convert all of it. The Colonial Casino is right behind HDR and they usually exchange at close to bank rate. You can get along fine with converting $300 a day there as needed.

Go have fun, and remember to let us know how it went.

First of all the weather. The average temperature year round in San Jose is highs in the low 80s, lows in the high 60s. July is the rainy season, which usually amounts to an afternoon shower of less than an hour duration.
The Sportsman's Lodge, L'Amistad, Hotel Mona Lisa are all within 1/3 mile of the Del Rey. Cab ride is less than five minutes and costs less than $2. Each has it's advantages over the Rey. You will find guys to hang out with with similar interests at the other hotels. This is a big advantage depending on your style of mongering. You get to compare notes on the women concerning performance. Stay at the Rey, you pick one and take your chance.
Mongering in the states does not compare with what you will find in Costa Rica. Prostitution is not illegal in Costa Rica. The girls are not controlled by pimps. The percentage of women who are heavily involved in drugs is much lower in Costa Rica. If you are young and athletic and willing to spend money, you will be received like a touring rock star. I am close to 66 and I am treated like a rock star. The key to the equation is willing to spend money. You do not go through services here to meet women. You get to pick the one you want from hundreds available. You are not subjected to bait and switch.
As far as chocolate goes, the candy that normally sells for $1 or $2 in the states sells for $4 or $5 here. They all love it.

Agree with the advise given above...from the most part.

I will reiterate that it is a good idea to stay at HDR, especially for your first trip. Regardless of particular tastes and preferences, this is where the action is all day, 24 hours. You will not get bored at HDR, especially your first trip. It's also centrally located to any other venue mentioned. In terms of Chica quality, HDR has them all! You will find what you are looking for there...if you are young, friendly, respectful and generous, the chicas will be all over you and you'll get plenty of chances to find GFE, if that is what you like.

SL is an excellent, more intimate venue with many Chica options. Just not the volume and choice of the former. Could be a great choice for a future stay, once you are familiar with the gulch. Also, best place to meet fellow travelers and locals.

In terms of money, and based on what you describe, I would budget $1500 for your four days without including the hotel, to be safe and leave with money in your pocket. Also, remember there is a minor departure tax of $29 to be paid at the airport when you leave!

Have fun!

Thanks for all the awesome information, guys! I will certainly have to begin processing it and come up with some sort of loose plan. I am much more of a go with the flow kinda guy, but I have been a big believer in having some knowledge in the back pocket.

I'll be reporting frequently, as I have utilized other mongering boards and strongly believe in "paying it forward" in this great hobby of ours!

Happy Friday!

First of all, welcome to the board. You wrote that you plan on visiting over the July 4 weekend, you will find more Americans in town than normal due to the holiday, so start your airfare shopping soon and make a hotel choice in the next 30 days or so. You did not indicate the type of lodging you desire. The gulch area hotels are not five star by any means but there are some with higher quality rooms than others. I have stayed at the major ones mentioned here, all have good points and not so good points.

You did not mention how well you speak Spanish, the Amistad and Sportsmen are American owned and operated and you will probably see the owners more than a few times during your stay if you have any problems and the level of customer service seems to be better. The Mona Lisa has Guy Grande on site and is a big help as well. The Del Rey seems to be on the lower end with English speakers available.

The Amistad and Sportsmen are both smaller than Mona Lisa and Del Rey, if you feel more comfortable at a smaller place then try to book soon, as the better rooms sell out quickly.

It is true that menu food prices are a little higher in the US, but most of the time the price includes the sales tax and gratuity so the menu price is skewed.

Keep reading and don't be afraid to ask questions.

Milk Chocolate doesn't seem to be as popular down there, at least with the chicas I regularly feed. In a bucket of options, the milk chocolate seems to be the last ones chosen.

The Ghiradelli Squares are readily accepted. Sometimes I'll mix a bag with those and kisses. The kisses get eaten last.

DO NOT give out Halloween candy. The SL bar is littered with that stuff after someone passes through. The girls seem to pass on it.

For a first time visit, the Sportsmens Lodge would be just about perfect. It's a one of kind place. Very comfortable. Great owner. Great staff. A lot of the rooms are stellar and great for room parties. It's a great place to hang out and talk to people. And the female talent is friendlier. It's an awesome sports bar too. It gets quiet late evening.

Del Rey's main floor is part casino, coffee bar, lounge and hotel lobby. And the rooms probably aren't the quality of SL. It's active much later into the night too.

My suggestion is to stay at a few places for 2-3 days each and see which one you like best. Then the next trip you will know what works for you. That is how I ended up staying in the penthouse at Zona 2 most of the time. I have stayed at all the other popular locations as well as some obscure ones. The only place I have never stayed is at the Rey just because the chica fee annoys me there. I for whatever reason have no issues paying chica fees elsewhere but that place it just grinds on me that I pay a large sum to drink and eat there, at least 500.00 per week, then they want to charge me to take a girl upstairs, Phuck THAT.
