Hello all, I'm a newbie planning my first trip to the Del Rey on the week of New Years.
What can I expect this week? I've read the week of Christmas is dead. What about the week of New Years?

the time you are thinking about is not ideal - especially for a newbi

While I personally don't care for the Delrey, you are probably in the right spot - reach out to some resident vetrans - like Bangbang57, EsposodeBarbi, and see what they say

You are a paid member so you are entitled to the map with places marked (good luck using it)

On a positive note, the time you are in San Jose will likely be much better than where you are coming from

(You know, believe it or not I hate to write a downer post - but did you do no research??? You post suggests you did - was this time period the ONLY time you could get to CR?

If so you did the right thing - if not you should have choosen a different time to visit, especially as a new visitor to CR - again, its a better time to visit vs Easter and Holy Week, and some of what you are seekng is available - but you are not seeing San Jose at its best, if you take my point :)
