I'm really not thrilled, but the reality is that I'm stuck with a Christmas Vacation. Dates ranging from 12/20-1/08 (off from College). I'm a frequent visitor to PI and Thailand, but I have sworn off Thailand during peak season I hate rubbing elbows with a bunch of other loud fellows that I don't particularly care for. Prices for airline tickets are jacked up about 300-500 dollars between the two countries versus what I normally would like to pay. I have looked at SJ, CR, Sosua, DR, and Colombia, but I'm leaning towards a first time visit to SJ, CR as I like the Penthouse Accommodation at La Amistad. I did not really see any NICE girl friendly hotels in DR, and I don't know if I would prefer the darker skinned women. My only downfall is the loss of the GFE, mongering is not really a big deal I can sex whenever I want anywhere really so I would like to know if SJ, CR has a Disco similar to Pattaya, or AC where you can pick up girls for free or 1/3 the average fee, maybe even $50 US long time? Has anyone heard of these things before in CR? I usually keep girls for multiple days, so I'm just kind of looking for the same thing. I've kind of ruled out Colombia as the flight savings aren't their and I'm still seriously considering AC, but I want to try something new. I was suppose to go to Phukett, but then I remembered how much I hate Thailand in December. I usually pay $1000 to fly to PI right now prices are at 1300, and 1500 to BKK. Flight to CR is 560. I feel like the room is the right price for the Penthouse at La Amistad with the weekly CRT discount. I know that it is slow season in CR, but it is also "slow" season in PI, but these things don't really concern me as I know I can always find something in these types of areas, and usually it helps my case. If anyone has better ideas please lend me a few good ideas. I should mention I'm addicted to gambling a bit so hanging out in Casinos is not ideal any other day time activities? Thank You. |

There's a lot of info here about day trips but it is wildly scattered. Try TripAdvisor, especially a poster there name Prolijo--he used to post a lot here too but has been absent for about 2 years. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Tourism-g291 ... tions.html If you decide to do an overnight anywhere in CR besides Jaco, it's usually BYO Chica. |

You probably can find something - I almost never post "do a search" but so much has been written about this topic - especially lately - that you should do so. I will state that the time period - most of it - is not ideal, especially for someone new to Costa Rica. We have a member - Esposodebarbie - who does tours - you should PM him and get together w/ him. |

I found the GFE much more available in Sosua than CR. I have also sworn off Pattaya over the holidays. AC is a lot better than Pattaya over the holiday periods IMO. Though chilling on the 26th floor of VT6 watching the NYE fireworks is great. If I had a choice between Sosua and San Jose and LT was my thing I would choose Sosua. LT is very affordable there, food is good and everything is cheaper than San Jose + you’re on a beach. I was paying $35-45 LT last Jan to Haitians in Sosua. IMO the ladies available in SJ are way hotter, pricier and more ST orientated. I told a friend I felt like the DR had above average service from below average ladies (I stick to Haitians, the Dominicans are a complete pain in the ass IMO). In the end if your used to Pattaya, AC, Phnom Penh, BKK etc you probably will be a little disappointed with everything but flight times and flight prices. Sorry bro, you are spoiled. Nothing beats walking into High Society and having any girl in the place for 25 bucks or the thousands of girls waiting to be your temporary GF in Pattaya. |

This is valuable even warming info but WTF does this have to do with this Thread--CR in February? Easy there Cowboy. The OP was asking about the GFE in the CR as he like to keeps his girls for few days & Win was simply comparing the GFE in the CR to the DR. No conflict that I can see! |

This is valuable even warming info but WTF does this have to do with this Thread--CR in February?
Ummm, nothing. That's not even the same thread. OP was asking about LT over Christmas. Did you even read the original post before commenting? Perhaps you can prove me wrong and make some suggestions where the OP can hang out, not in a casino and find $50 LT ladies with out much hassle. I guess I am in the same boat as the OP, I prefer LT and have spent a lot of time in Asia over the last few years. The OP asked about LT and IMO LT is way more available in the DR. OP asked about $50 LT girls. IMO really tough in CR, easily available in the DR. If the OP was asking about ST with super hot girls I would have been recommending CR. But he isn’t looking for that, he is a LT guy. I just don’t think CR is the place for that/him. The OP specifically asked if anyone has any better ideas for me (a LT guy). I just don’t feel CR is the best place to go for a guy looking for LT. I met many guys on Sosua beach keeping ladies for days or weeks. It’s not the norm there like Asia but it’s way more normal than in San Jose. Where is the biggest scene in CR, The Del Rey. OP said he is addicted to gambling and doesn’t want to hang out in casino A city full of casinos or a beach town with a casino. |

The fact is Costa Rica and Asia are different in many ways - as the Thai's might even comment "Same same, but different" Having been many times to Las Vegas, I would also comment that the casino scene is a poor relation in San Jose - is it available - sure. Does it bear any resemblenace to Las Vegas? Or even the Bahamas - not so much - Also, if you are a craps player, your options are even more limited. There are many other casinos, certainly not the HDR being at the top of the list: The ones out near the airport, the new one at the Holiday Inn downtown, the Colonial next to the HDR - all viable choices (Hell, lots of casinos in San Jose - and Las Vegas its not). |
