Hello all, thanks to all the advice I got there I had a good trip to San Jose about a month back. Stayed for 7 nights which I think was far too long. Anyhoo, I made quite a few mistakes on that first trip and while I have some downtime I am trying to do a second quick trip, and this time experience Jaco and Coral too. I am planning on going August 6-August 11. DAY 1-SAN JOSE DAY 2-JACO DAY 3-JACO DAY 4 - JACO DAY 5 - SAN JOSE Does this seem like a good idea to yall? It doesn't look like Jaco is very far from San Jose. I think a taxi driver can take me there in around 2hrs, yeah? (on that note, what is a fair price for a trip from San Jose to Jaco?) My concern is that Jaco won't really be jumping off because this is the slow season. I want to experience a Friday and Saturday night at Cocal. Do yall think it will be the typical 10-1 ratio I hear so much about? Lastly do people usually stay at cocal? I imagine they'd have a chica fee smilar to Del Rey. |

Hey, I get in on the 4th, my wing gets in on the 6th.....our plan is if I rent a car on wed I will pick him up at the airport and we will head to jaco for wed and thurs night then return to san jose on Friday .....still debating on the rental car....if I dont , then I will take the bus and meet him in jaco wed afternoon. He will take a taxi from the airport to jaco, send me a pm if you want to try to make some plans with us......not sure what time your flight gets in on wed .....we picked wed since there is a bar jin jaco I been wanting to hit that has ladies night on wed. |

If you are going from the Gulch to Jaco, don't use a cab, it is going to cost you over $100 each way. You have several options instead, the Amistad has a daily trip for $37 round trip or $25 each way, Interbus is an option as well. If you are comfortable riding the regular bus it is $5-7 each way with multiple departure times ranging from early morning to late afternoon to early evening both departing San Jose or Jaco. The Jaco bus leaves from the Coca Cola terminal. It is a few dollar cab ride from the Gulch. I have walked it a few times but it is easy to get turned the wrong way. Every cabbie know where it is. The bus terminal in Jaco is across from the Best Western, you buy your return ticket their as well. It is a short cab ride to the Cocal. It is easier to pay the for the bus tickets in CR currency than US, but it can be done. The Cocal does not charge a chica fee. As a side note you can not bring your own drinks to the pool area. You can get alcohol at the grocery store a few minutes from the hotel and drink it in your room. viewtopic.php?f=11&t=16357&p=517929&hilit=interbus#p517929 The Cocal is like the Del Rey in this manner, you walk out of your hotel room and head to the pool / tiki bar area and there will be treasure we all hunt for. The girls will be hanging out around the bar, pool or in the casino, it is a very compact, condensed area. After about 6pm until midnight you will find a large section of available women with the peak time being 8p to 11p. Many leave early if they think that they won't get picked and head for another bar/club. I have been there three different times, during the week and on weekends and always found enough quality girls to chose from. There is not much daytime action compared to San Jose but I hear that it is improving. The girls leave their ID at the front of the hotel before entering the casino or pool area so their is no check in process like at other places, the girls pick up their ID's on their way off the property. |

Just returned from Cocal ( wednesday thru sunday) there is no chica fee; I made drinks in the room and brought them to the pool bar except for Saturday nite when security was checking. Chicas start arriving about 5pm or so. but prime time is 7pm+ I made drinks for chicas in the room I brought many chicas to the room and 4 bolted when i refused payment up front. Which who cares you can always go back and find another. You won't need any other place to search for chicas, this place has it all. It will be best to stay in trhe hotel or if you have 3 guys you can rent the condos which are huge and very nice. I saved $20 a night with a parking lot room but it is worth extra $20 for the condos. I am a big San Jose fan but the Cocal blows away any venue in San Jose. It is very hot so wear shorts, sandals.The air conditioning in Cocal is very good and is the small free breakfast. |

Alright, got everything booked. San Jose- Aug 7 Jaco - Aug 8 Jaco - Aug 9 San Jose - Aug 10 Hopefully 4 days is enough, my last trip at 7 days felt way too long. Got rooms at LA and Cocal. I centered this entire trip around being at Cocal on a Friday and Saturday night, really hope its jumping and busy. EDIT: Help me dispel a fear of mine fellas. Hotel La Amistad has terrific reviews on Tripadvisor and other third party review sites...how is this possible? I am esctatic that it has great reviews, but the people writing these reviews seem to be like everyday gringa tourists...wouldn't they be put off by seeing all the dudes who bring back working girls? Did I book the wrong Amistad!? |

Matt and his team go to great efforts to take care of their guests. Rooms are comfortable and the all inclusive is worth the money, especially if are in the area for all three meals and a few drinks. You will have a good time at the Cocal, It is an American type hotel. I wouldn't spend a large chunk of money for poolside or ocean view. I have stayed in the parking lot view, was upgraded to pool and ocean view on two trips for minimal cost. It is not worth it if you are paying rack rate. You are coming from Jaco to San Jose on a Sunday, don't leave to late, traffic on the toll road backs up on Sunday night, especially if it is raining. Everyone is coming back to the valley from the coast. |

Yes, I got penthouse at LA and Poolside at Cocal...very excited. On a side note, I asked this in my earlier thread when I was going on my first trip. Everyone here tells me to negotiate everything upfront, which makes good sense. But how exactly do yall ask, "I want to bust on your face" I know how to say it in Spanish but it just sounds really awkward and super vulgar (don't ask why I am concerned about vulgarity whilst mongering). I don't want to come off as some creepy sexually perverse person and get met by a stonewall of cien. |

Thanks for all the advice, soaking it all up. I will look into CRT VIP, I haven't given it as much attention as I should have...especially considering this will be my second trip. I appreciate both sides of the argument here. I guess I will just try to be as upfront about everything. I really want to check a lot of things off on this trip...C*m on face, anal, and a threesome! |
