I, too, am cutting back on CRT, but for different reasons: 1. Its getting boring and repetitive. The arguments and stories all become a blur to me. 2. Low Volume of posts 3. Not many of the greater contributors post very much any more. We still get good stuff from BB57, Blue Devil, Good to Go, Orange, Farmer1, et. al., but not much else. CRT has been one of the bests forums I have ever had the pleasure of being a part of. Alas, I think the day of Internet forums is drawing to a close. As a body of work its an incredible resource. It is still all here for anyone to use and benefit from, but there are too many other options and distractions out there. Also, since I am more interested in South America and Southeast Asia, its less and less appealing to me. |

RM, I understand your point. A forum that permits the posting of 'opinion' over 'experienced fact' is always going to degrade into poking and yelling. The pheremone thread (in a fact-only setting) would have had zero responses, because no one knows the answer. Most threads are subjective, and can only elicit opinion. They are apt to grow and degrade. A final thought: posting a message saying you are done and leaving is a very egotistical act. To me, this simply says that you are among friends here, and I (for what it's worth), eagerly await your return with the quality posts that I've come to expect from your handle. Cheers. |

I still like CRT and hope it improves. It's a good source for new guys to gain some insite as in what to expect on their arrival . ( really wish they would make it easier to post pics, just my main bitch) There are some guys that seem to pick on others but i just wright that off as stupid folks being stupid and don't pay it any mind. Am in the Philippines now but will return to Costa Rica some day and have a blast. Life is good enjoying the Philippine life style for a few more weeks. Sounds like my next trip to CR will be a straight run to jaco |

I agree with the Dwarf, sorry to see you go, I will miss your posts. I get tired of all the mean-spirited petty rivalries, too. Everything else ranges from the informative and the mildly amusing, to the very inspired brilliant and funny postings. |

Roadmn295: IMHO; What is in it for you to "take in" what the nay sayers, who hide behind their keyboards, have to say about you, or what you post. I was a pro at taking others negativity in, and still on occasion do it, but am getting much better in recognizing it sooner now. It is most likely that most of these same people would never say any negativity to you personally. By allowing them to alter your person, they win. If nothing else, do not let others accomplish their weak ass being, and having some form of control in your thought process. Think about what is written, and if it does not serve your highest goal for self, let it go. The sooner that I let go of feelings that do not serve me well, the sooner I am better with myself, and the happier I am. This not only applies, for me, to the internet, but in life. I can choose to let go of taking in things that do not serve me positively, although it is one of the hardest things I can do in life, since my ego lives in the safety of the past. There is an actual felling in my body that causes this reaction that has very little to do with what is currently taking place, but from past encounters in my youth. My ego has found a comfortable place to protect me from attack, but it is not a good place, although it seems very comfortable. My ego is very strong, and does not want me to leave that place. It is a battle that I must fight daily, since my ego has had over 60 years to want me to go with what it knows, and perceives as safe. Thank you for your post. It has made me think about my own struggles which can only serve me well. What do I know, but I did stay at a holiday Inn last night. ![]() Heath & happiness to you and yours......... |

Thank you SB, You also made me think. It is the occasional nugget of golden information that makes it worth digging through the dirt to find useable information. And thank you RM, Your posts have always been enjoyable and informative. You have led me in a good direction more than once. I look forward to more. And thank you to the nattering nabobs of negativity, You are helping me learn how not to think, to leave the bad behind and keep looking for the good, and enjoy my life. Pura Vida |
