Post subject: | CRT Card with pseudonym |
Greetings Fellow Travelers, I just received my CRT Membership card with my pseudonym on it, thus this question. When I get there, my passport (the only real ID document I will carry) will have my real name on it, but the card will not. Given that the card is non-transferable, how will anyone be able to confirm that this is indeed me, and thus how will I be able to avail of the discounts et al on this card? I guess what I am really asking is; Does anyone really bother? ![]() Blessings to the younger chaps, and regards to the seniors. |

You highlight a clear risk of using a pseudonym, but I believe that the CRT sponsors are under the impression that there is still some amount of HONOR among our membership. DON'T SCREW IT UP. A Lifetime Membership card has a face picture on it. |

In any case, fudging with ID's for 39 bucks on a planned expense of over 4K is a real dumb-ass strategy, IMO. In any case, thanks for highlighting the potential risk here. Will confer with the authorities (hotel booking et cetera) when I take the plunge. Else, as you suggest, might as well upgrade and get rid of this claptrap once and for all. ![]() As always, Muchos Gracias, fellow traveler!! |

Ken, last I checked the back of your card also has your email address on it. For this reason I use the same email when making reservations. Sent from my XT603 using Tapatalk 2 |

DON'T SCREW IT UP. A Lifetime Membership card has a face picture on it. I wish there was more HONOR, but in any group, I suppose you can find some dishonor. I was in the SL one night and there were two guys using the same CRT card. I asked one of the guys if he was a CRT member, and he said he was not, but he continued using his buddies card every time he ordered a drink. In that instance, there were two dishonorable people. I think the person at the reception desk probably checks the card more closely than the people behind the bar, especially on a busy night. Now that I think about it, my card does not have my name on it, only GoodDayJohn and my email address. So Kb9ora has a point - use the email address on your card when making reservations. |

Thanks for the info! There is no personal e-mail information on the back of my card, so ![]() Will probably upgrade before my trip just to be sure. |

Although they might, I have never seen any place ask you to verify that your pseudonym matches your real name or email -- unless it's obvious that someone is cheating or sharing a card. ----------------------- Hi Guys! First Post. I've been visiting CR for about 6 years now, but I'm new to the whole internet message board thingy. This is my first post! |

Big point Bros Rac and Isra123 are making is that it never hurts to ask, especially in Sponsors' venues. I try to leave as much shyness as possible behind when boarding that plane. |

I think you are correct - my VIP card does not have my picture on it either - which to me, for privacy purposes, is a good thing. I joined years ago, long before I started posting b/c I think its important to support something you like, enjoy, and have learned so much from - we have had frequent posters - not paid members - when asked why they don't support the site by becoming members, responded they "pay" in different ways, like by sharing their whelth of knowledge - and guys have accused ME of arrogance ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Hey, when a guy with the knowledge level of a BangBang57 who shares so much is a paid member, I believe those who post frequently should step up to the plate. But like my friend Miami Heller says, TEHO. Oh....I was not gonna mention this, but many times, especially for newbi's, I will suggest that they contact Bangbang and make a time to do a walk with him - believe me, you will learn more in a few hours with BB than in 5 trips, especially if you are in the "I know the HDR, KL, Sportsmans, Scores, New Fantasy, orbit" He mentioned to me that very recently, guys did not show, nor did they call him to let him know - that's just a jack off move - he does not charge for his time, and is doing it to help guys out - so for Christ sakes, show the Phuck up, or have the courtesy to cancel in advance. Its idiots like I'm describing above that really set me off - and no, BB did not ask me to post this - jack offs just set me off. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
