Post subject:  Advice for a first timer....

Headed to Costa Rica next month for the first time. Thought I would ask for any advice that will help me navigate the waters and help me not get totally taken advantage of. Also, what are the top spots that I need to try to hit during my trip? I'm staying at the SL and only staying 4 nights, so I know I will need to make the most of my time.

Thanks for you help...

Just got back from a trip. You should have a ball. Stayed at sportsmens for the 5th time. Noticed not quite as crowded or lively as before, but you should still be able to get your fill. Meet a few of the brothers there, as they will be very helpful in giving you the latest lowdown and tips for to see places. Visit New Fantasy, HLH, Mona Lisa as they are within easy walking distance and let us know what you think. Visit the MPs .. use the helpful map available on this site... and of course the Del Rey. Still has lots of ladies available even if diluted somewhat with the Cocal in jaco.

Went Tuesday Thru saturday and always abundance of ladies . Sunday was very slow however.

Have a blast.

plus you can investigate all the other places to see what suits your needs, Amistad, HLH, Castillo, Dunn and Mona Lisa are all quick walking distance. enjoy have fun, rinse, repeat.

I still think breaking your SJO Cherry should be done at the DR the first couple of trips, then stay at the Barrio Amon Properties.

Hi everybody...

I didnt find a place to say hello here, so i take this way.

Im a "sick" m8 from good old germany and i have planned to go to San Jose at October 24 for the first time.
I found this awesome forum by surfing for informations especially for mongering all over the world.
Im not a real newbie for gringo tourism, but i never was in Costa Rica before. I have some experiences in DR, Cuba and Thailand. In 1999 i lived 2 years in Havana - this was the "hightime" overthere. It was the best time of my life.

After i went 3 times to Thailand, i started to miss the latin way...so i get here and try to get information and a membercard for my big trip. I want stay in HLH and hope that i make a good choice with this place.

Please guys, dont be so cruel with me, because of my "nerd-english" - i will try my best

By the way, im 43 years old - come from Berlin - and i work as a sportsmanager for a soccer-team.

Hasta la victoria siempre... 8)

Hi GermanRipper...greetings from Canada Eh!...
welcome to the site. As a 1st step to SJO, best to buy a membership on the CRT
board. A small price for the vast info from the fellow San Jose travellers. Money well spent.

cheers
