So ! I've decided that this is the year for my Tattoo. And you don't get a opinion . but input is OK ! I've contacted Hiram Tattoo 506.
All I want is a life size Kiss on my ass. I'll pick the color of the lipstick. You've heard the song " Kiss my Rosie red ass" At 64 they say you start taking your cloths off.
and in the 70's you walk around naked saying "Kiss my ass"
When I pass " I'm having that 4 inch square patch of my behind extricated and tanned and framed and hung on a wall in my favorite whore house ! Yet to be determined .

Please can I pass the test ?? Ye Ha !!

Certainly different but in Our Crowd, not too bizarre. Maybe hook up with Brother Mikey_Drum and get a 2 for 1 special at 506 Tattoo (he'll doubtless have a different design in mind).

I like it! Best idea for a tattoo since I saw, "Your name here" written on some chick's ass.

Thanks for starting this thread. I already have 2 tattoos done in the states, 1 done in Mexico. Now I know where to go for my CR tattoo. :D

When I was in the Navy in Norfolk Virginia I met a pro who had "service to the fleet" tattooed on her ass.

Totally might make for a fun "memorable" experience... Even if just something small. I only have 15 so far (ok some totally are starting to blend together - lol) but always room for jello... Errr one more.

Might be a silly question but does anyone know if the standards are the same in CR as elsewhere in the world with regard to cleaning/needles/policy?

Not at all a silly question. I can't answer directly but here's a convo with the owner/artist at 506 Tattoo:

Awesome information... Now I just have to figure out something very Costa Rican and/or appropriate and I'll be good to go. The first thing I thought was something "Día de los muertos" related but it's apparently very different in CR compared to Mexico. Hmmm... Well plenty of time to think about it.

For those interested regarding my question, I found the following in one of the links JazzboCR provided:

"What are the laws in CR in regards to sanitation? Can you describe your own personal sanitation rituals? Are they the same as here in the US?

We have more strict laws for tattooing around here, central America, and maybe better than some countries of south America but sadly, it is a third world you know - some people pay some money to the inspector and get their license. I worked in person with the health department doing that law, to open a shop you need first aid, blood born pathogen, CPR courses, an autoclave of course, you know basically the same as in the states, as well as a business license, paying taxes and everything, but I can’t speak for the other shops; there are some “tattooists” that don’t have a clue of what they're doing, but they are in a shop anyway."

I very well may reach out to Hiram @ 506 and inquire a bit more. If anyone is interested, I'll be sure to share my findings with the board.

Maybe you don't want to get a tattoo while in CR - not for any other reason other than it needs healing time; you need to be careful while in the shower, among some good reasons - maybe do it when you are home and can take care of it properly (plus, you know the girls will want to see it/you will want to show them and you need to keep it covered for a while to let it heal - in fact, the more I think about it, its a really bad idea to get one when you are in CR.

(Note I did not say getting one is a bad idea, nor say the sanitation standards in Costs Rica not up to par; just that it needs to heal properly and i suspect for most guys while on vacation in CR is just the wrong place to do it - plus should you have any complications - not saying you will - home is just better)
