Greetings all new guy here, I am really glad to have discovered this site which is full of great info and an overall friendly vibe. Bit of background Canadian guy with some mongering/hobbying experience in Canada, Netherlands and Russia, I just had the desire to try something different having never been south of the United States and decided on Costa Rica.

Now to the 2 questions, I am very attracted to the lite skin Latina types (Sofia Vergara types) and having seen some pics and read reports what I get is that looks wise the ladies at a place like say SL runs the entire gauntlet, an entire buffet of sorts if you will, is this correct? Second is a non mongering question, I love traveling and paying hot women to play with my wiener but also enjoy other touristy activities, the problem is that I have a disability, I am able to walk but with a limp and slower than the average person, is it worthwhile for me to go to CR seeing that all these activities (rafting, volcano exploration etc etc) to an outsider seem physically straining, correct or am I just making a mountain out of a molehill? any input would be awesome.

Welcome to CRT. You are correct on your first question. For your 2nd question, the tours you see advertised most often will seem physically straining but they have many other options as well. Costa Rica gets a fair amount of elderly and obese visitors so they also have tours designed more for them. Instead of rafting you could take a boat tour. The Arenal volcano has helicopter and hot-air balloon tours, or even some hotels with views from your bed (weather permitting). One of my favorite activities around Arenal is soaking in one of the many hot springs. All the ATV tours offer automatics if that's doable. The sidewalks in San Jose are terrible for walking but taxis are really cheap.

1. PM BKTuna @ HLH. Currently there is a chica in their line-up that is one of the whitest Latinas I have ever seen, blonde too! Rumor has it, and you know what they are all worth down here is, she is half Nica and half Dutch...another reason to PM the answer man at HLH

2. I have a great ex-pat friend here who has had 3 disks operated on in his lifetime and getting around is a little tough for him too. However, with that said, I must admit that he and I have been all over this part of the world together and as long as you have understanding friends (wingman) and a good chica there should be no physical problems for you here. Besides, the farmacia's are always a few steps away for some good kick-ass pain relievers (if needed) over-the-counter for cheap prices.

I know of a man that is paralyzed from the neck down that just took in all the sights CR has to offer including volcanos etc.

Just make sure your tour guide has a car/van that can accommodate your limitations.

Native Costa Rican women (Ticas) tend to be lighter-skinned, due to the fact that most of the relatively small pre-Columbian indigenous population got wiped out after the Spanish arrived, thus giving the people that followed a strong European look. Nicas (Nicaraguans) tend to be browner, and anyone from the Caribbean area will be very dark to black.

Most of the day tours use mini-buses/vans to easy destinations. Poas Volcano and the Lankester Gardens involve just a short easy flat walk. Even if you don't want to get out of the bus, you can enjoy the ride and just sightsee that way. Boat tours (like on the Sarapiqui River) are also great if you don't want to walk. You don't really need to walk for rafting, as you're sitting down, but there might be a steep hill involved in getting to/from the put-in, and paddling the raft can be physically tiring.

thanks gents for the tips some great insight here, with the first question I was kinda nervous about turning this into a racial thing but it's not, some people like cake and some like pie, but both are good. I guess tourist destinations for the most part have figured out that my money is just as good as the guy whose legs work perfectly's is. Oh side question is it true that Viagra is available without even prescription in CR? I ask because I do have a prescription from my doctor but my insurance company doesnt cover it and even with the deal my pharmacist cuts me it comes out to something like 75 bucks for 6 pills.

And if anyone else has anything to add to the first 2 questions I would love to hear it, I am planning on a trip in early July it looks like.

There is a Dutch Nica working at HLH. From the word I got, she is almost full Dutch, having descended from Dutch immigrants. Having been to Amsterdam 8 times, she looked 100% Dutch to me, but she is a Nica. Hiker Tom was dead on about Ticas and a lot of Colombianas are also light skinned. I'm the same way in liking lighter skin but the dark Nica (Melissa?) at HLH is about the most stunning girl I've seen in a while!

On the Viagra, yes, you can buy it here no problem in almost any farmacia and it is a LOT cheaper than what you quoted.

On transport, most tour companies will gladly accommodate you as would I in any way I could

I did the San Luis Canopy Tour today...it is EXCELLENT, probably the best of the 6 I've done in CR. Not just a canopy tour but also a Tarzan swing and a 550 meter Superman slide all in the same package. Little bit of walking involved...just enough to get a little out of breath and no more than 300 meters or so. Both guides we had spoke good English, were very knowledgeable/helpful and just plain fun to be around. Price if you just drive in is $65 so $75 with transport from your hotel and meal sounds like a bargain. Time seems long as it's about an hour and a half one-way from San Jose and an hour and a half canopy tour. There is a pretty good video on their website that will give you a pretty good idea of what you will experience. (video logo upper right corner):

Tabacon is IMHO the nicest of the hot springs with nicer gardens and pools than Baldi but both can get crowded on the wrong day/time. A day pass with lunch and dinner is listed at $95 on their website.

Again, I'd have to say with transport, that is also a good deal. You will spend at least 6 hours on the road as Arenal is a minimum 3 hours one way from San Jose leaving 9 hours left over on an almost 15 hour tour.

Brother Jazzbo gives good advice, check around and see what other prices you can find...could be worth your time.

but seriously that canopy activity looks fun and definitely doable even with my physical limits, are the sidewalks in San Jose that bad? I do know that a taxi is always available, just wondering, but having survived winters in Moscow (where snow and ice removal is limited at best), well it cannot be any worse than that I think.

Oh another question there seems to be mixed reviews of Jaco, why is that?

No worries. You won't have any problems finding chicas or finding the right activity. Your biggest worry should be when walking downtown to make sure you don't step into one of those open holes in the sidewalk (or you won't be walking at all for a while).

EDIT: looks like somebody already mentioned the sidewalks, nevermind.
