Fellas, I've been here in CR now for about a day and a half. I've read this board for months. I've searched archives, reviewed maps and examined all the data. If your a newbie like me, you're probably going to do the same if you haven't already. I've never mongered before and this is a whole new world. If you're like me and your reading this I'm going to add one more bit of advice for you to weigh: Slow down and let Costa Rica come to you. A lot of stuff won't become clear to you until you EXPERIENCE it. I can now say that your mileage may vary to just about anything anyone says on here. You might pay cien or worse. That's Ok, you'll learn (or not) eventually. I've made a couple of errors already but I'm forgiving myself and forging ahead with better know-how the next time. In just the short amount of time I've been here I've overpaid taxis, been to the HDR and KL(very intimidating) and I slightly overpaid an independent. She was very good to me though and had a great body. So maybe I didn't overpay her? ![]() Trust your gut. If you know it ain't happening don't force it. If you want it to happen, then make it so without delay. Try to keep in mind that you're on vacation. There is such a thing as too much analysis. You're not invading Normandy. If you hook up with 1 chica or 2 chicas or none at all, that's fine. I got psyched out when I would read stories about guys banging several chicas a day. God bless 'em. I can't go at that rate and I'm not old either. If you're a total newbie like me, you've never seen such a high concentration of fine women in you're life. Many won't be to your liking but many will. Just like "game" in real life, you'll need to focus on those you want to spend $$/time on. |

Jett wrote: There is such a thing as too much analysis. Exactly. It's called "paralysis by analysis" and affects way more guys than it ought to. Common sense, trusting your gut and a good wingman can erase a lot of crippling doubt. We learn in large part by experience--a wise man learns from others' experience, which is what this Board is about. Mighty glad you're enjoying yourself, Brother Jett and thanks for sharing. |

I like your approach. I try to tell guys, that if you put too much into the planning and doing all the things that "people" say you should do. You miss out on what you might actually get out of a trip here. We are all different animals. And what works for me might not work for you. I have tried to explain that to many gents over the years, but they seem blinded by the blueprint laid out by other guys who have come before. No pun intended. I agree with you that if you sit back and let CR come to you, you will enjoy it more and have your own relationship with this place rather than living it the way someone else does. Good observation buddy!!!! +1 the DR <-------OG'n until it is over....... ![]() |

Freerain wrote: Thank you Jett. I am heading down for my first trip June 7 ad staying at HLH and your report was great. Keep us posted as your trip continues. Especially tell me more about your time at HLH GREAT REPORT ![]() HLH is great, Freerain. I really think you'll enjoy it. Honestly, it's hard not to. HLH is laid back. The girls are to the side of the bar. They will try to get your attention if you don't get theirs. They'll come to you if you show the slightest interest. In fact, all the places I've been thus far do this. If you're new to Costa Rica or mongering in general all of this can be a bit intimidating. How so? Well for the simple fact that you're there to have sex with chicas. You know it and so does everyone else. This type of thing doesn't come easy with my religious background so yeah, it's daunting. Now if you have a wingman then I think you'll be better off. It's not a must though because there's several guys there at any given time at the bar who can help you out. Boyd(he runs the place) is a great guy and gave me my first recommendation. Her name is Carla and she was fantastic. I saw her this morning as a matter of fact but another guy beat me to her ![]() Sadly, I went with another chica that I didn't mesh well with and it ended up being a disaster for me. It's nobody's fault, it's just the way things go sometimes. This is so important for us new guys to understand. My guess is that you're probably not going to have porn-star sex with every chica you get with down here. It's a nuance thing. One other thing you must be prepared for is that just because you're horny all the time back home doesn't necessarily mean you'll always be horny here. Back home when you're at the mall and a hot chick goes past you you're like, "Damn, I'd love to smash dat." But here in C.R. you CAN smash ANY chick and it does a number on your psyche. It's like that old saying, "stolen candy is so much sweeter." Nearly all of these women are available so then it behooves you to make sure there is more to her that just looks. You'll find yourself looking for a connection beyond the physical whether that's at HLH, SL or wherever. Getting laid in C.R. is the easy part; mongering takes time, money, experience and lots of patience. Honestly, I'm not there yet... |

I don't know Jett. I say "Drive it like you stole it". It is better to burn out than to slowly fade away. I have been mongering for several years on the down low. Next month will be my 1st trip to CR, the big time (kind of). I plan to keep it marginally above board. Hope to have something interesting to report. I love all the diversity on the board. This might just be the double IPA high gravity beer talking but... I AM SO FRIGGEN STOKED for next month. Brock I may be wrong, but I am never in doubt! |

Brock, your first day itinerary should be IMHO: first HLH to get your initial nut off and reconoiter, there or SL for lunch. Del Rey a must for anyone's first trip to CR, to scope out the talent, Key Largo later and depending on your tastes, cheapo MPs during the day. Shuffle the above, per your tastes but be sure and hit them all at some point. |

What are the rooms at the HLH like? The descriptions on their web page of in room saunas and steam baths sounds great. Is this true, or just marketing? |

forgive yourself? if you have never mongered before its pretty hard to quantify that first experience. especially in cr. everyone develops a style that suits them when it comes to what they need and how they go about getting/negoitiating for it. you said it yourself. slow down and enjoy it. one thing though, you might want to re think that part about that you can smash any chick in the country. sure theres tons of opportunities pro and non pro but if you walk around san jose with that attitude...lets just say it won't go unnoticed fwiw. |
