I've been looking for flights from SFO to CR and can't seem to find any for less than $800 with less than ideal times (it seems unless you're flying from FL, GA or TX most have this issue). Any members from the bay area that can advise a preferred route/airline? Thanks.

I'm flying US Air on May 4 till May 13 for $480 booked on the middle of March with one stop in Charlotte, NC before heading down SJ. I checked tripadvisor for about a week before I found my price.

That sounds about right. I live in the Sacramento area so I fly out of there almost exclusively. When I checked SFO the price was pretty much the same for both airports. Sacramento makes you fly to Houston then to CR. If I recall, SFO makes you do the same. That could explain why A) the price is so high and B) so few travel times.

To my credit I booked months ago for around $660 round trip. Sadly, we don't have the luxury of living in the southeast where airfare is decidedly cheaper

Yeah,,I know what you mean. $800 seems a lot to pay, half of that would go a long way at HLH playing a double header, then playing a night game at Pantera Rosa before a final one at HDR going up against the heavy hitting Dominicanas. Man ,, I love this game

I have been going on Continental for about $600 the last few years from SFO.
This year I booked on TACA/LASCA in March for May 22 and got a fare of $529.
I think the fares are higher the smaller the interval between booking and departure date and also time of year.
Last year American was advertising $425 round trip from SFO just before they declared bankruptcy.
Good luck.
