Ok, This is probably a stupid question, but I am posting it in newbies so be gentle...

I've been looking at the photo's in the Costa Rica area of this site and I've noticed that half the girls are blonde and the other half seem to be dark haired with white skin.

My question is: Are there many (or any) dark skinned girls there in the clubs like HLH?

i'm a pasty white boy and as you know, opposites attract!

Greg, I've been going for 15 years; my description of the "typical" girl you are most likely to encounter has dark hair, skin more on the darker side (but not always; many have light skin, but still dark hair) - sometimes, you will see a true fair skined girl, but there are few "real" blonds - its Central America, not Estonia

I think you wil be very satisified! In fact, as I posted to "Jett" another newbi who liked Dominicanas and will state to you, if your taste runs more to darker skinned ladies - in all likeihood you will be looking into more black holes than the Mount Palomar Observatory!

Oh, and one other thing - HLH is a hotel and a whore house, not to put too fine a point on it.....not a "club" - did not want you going there expecting a disco ball and disappointed when they don't play the song "Disco Duck"

Many are just simply stunning in looks and beat the socks off the Colombian ladies that are prized by so many. Of course, I'm sampling all the flavors as well 13 days till I'm wheels up...

I personally like all the shades from Blanco Blanco to blue-black with purple lips (as my friend Perry used to say). Because there is still some persistence of racism in CR, Dominicanas and other Black women naturally are in groups for comfort and protection. Try the KL after 10-11 PM and catch a thrill. There is a Dominican sector in SJO and maybe p4p chances but I wouldn't roam there with less than a Marine fire-team as wingmen.

Wow, that sounds nice. I had read that post you made scuba. Just wanted to confirm since the visual evidence seemed to point to lighter skin. Glad my impression was wrong.

Jungle fever? Well maybe, I like darker skin whether they're ancestor's came from South america or Africa. I'm easy.

living in Thailand the last 8 years i've had my share of dark skinned Asians. Oddly enough the Thai guys think they are ugly. Are darker skinned girls as unattractive to ticos as dark skin girls here are to Thai men?

Not sure how the ticos think....but last time down, I ran into a tica who described dark girls as "monkey girls" Thought she was hot up to that point but that comment just turned me right off.

You'll have plenty of choices for your preference, bigger selection I'd say at the DelRey, but the DR has a bigger selection of everything just going on volume.

CR is not immune from racism. And many aren't crazy about Nicaraugans either but that may be more economically based: taking jobs, govt resources etc.

Yeah it's a really sad thing that many countries throughout the world, especially those of Western influence, carry a subtle if not an outright disdain for dark(er) skinned people. This is truly unfortunate and leaves me with no hope that humanity can ever overcome its collective ignorance.

On a personal level, I have a simple rule in regards to the type of women I choose to be with:

"If you're attractive to me, then I'm attracted"

Race, color or creed carries no weight with me whatsoever when it comes to whether or not I'm gonna get down with a chick. That said, a sizable number of the hottest ladies do tend to be of African ancestry; IMO.

there are dark colos, ticas, dominicanas, panama chicas, all types of dark and many very beautiful. you will see for yourself. and then go crazy trying to smash them all. lol

Yeah it sounds like they do look down on the dark skinned people in CR.
They do it in Thailand because dark skin means you have to spend your time in the sun in low class professions like farming and laborer.

Some of the very white skinned girls in Thailand looks silly. They are dark skinned girls using makeup and powder to look whiter. The effect is unattractive to say the least. Going to the Department store you see row upon row of whitening cream, lol.

To me one of the best things about mongering in CR is the diversity of looks, not only from Ticas but from chicas from the DR, Colombia (one of the hottest women I have ever seen in CR was a negra from Cartegena) Limon (Carrebean side of CR) Panama and Nicaragua. A few of my all time favs have been negras from the DR (from the DR, and from the DR (Del Rey).

True about the "fetish" with light skin in Thailand and the PI- tons of stupid make up that makes them look pasty white, whitening products in the stores, and self loathing. The the globalization of the standards of beauty and centuries or decades of colonialization (depending on the country) have had a huge impact global standards of what is viewed as sexy.

There seems to be a stronger prejudice by the Ticos/Ticas against Limon area blacks and Nicas than you will find in Alabama or Mississippi. At all levels of society in CR the prejudice is strong and some are rather vocal. Some Ticas will not accompany black guys from the US. Perhaps some of the black CRT brothers can speak better to this than me.

Personally, I prefer the Nicas to the Ticas and my best time ever in CR was a tall thin black girl from Colombia - Nicole.
