Visiting CR in mid July. How is the scene in SJ as well as Jaco? Sundays?

Translation: Lotta rain in July (basically June - November is rainy season ) In SJ and Jaco - 2 howevers:

It mostly comes in the afternoon - so if you want to be out and about, you probably are OK in the AM

If you are confining yourself to mostly "indoor" activities, you will be fine - what does it matter :)

I've been down in rainy (or as the tourism board says, "Green Season" ) and have not noticed a drop in available talent - they live in CR year round and have to make a living so I suspect you will be fine.

Sundays really depends - some of the MP's are closed (don't ignore MP's, BTW - especially if you have been a HDR and KL guy) but others are open as well as the popular venues - it only takes one to catch your fancy, so I think you are going to be fine.
