After lurking for a while and doing tons of reading I figured I'd introduce myself to you all. I joined this forum (like many others) because of what I am, I am a Monger and F'en proud of it. Typical American aint it?...LOL. Anyways I just wanted to throw it out there that this site rocks, kinda like me "Rock-Out-With-Your-Hawk-Out"

Peace.

Hey man thanks for the welcome. I have to admit though that your name on here is creeping me out a little.

I used to own a Business called "Krico" I called it that as a play off part of my last name which is where the "Kri" came in and the "Co" stood for Company...Whats the deal with your name if I may ask?

Welcome aboard...make sure to get a membership to view pics and take advantage of the discounts. Also, it makes it easier to take "new users" seriously when there's a membership attached to it

Nice to have another member who isn't afraid to contribute... the board has many members, but only a handful ever write anything. The CRT website is supposed to be about Costa Rica, but you will also find a lot of information about Colombia... followed by South East Asia destinations, the Dominican Republic and even Europe.

Welcome!

Glad you introduced yourself; we need more guys who are not afraid to post.

Funny you commented on handles; there have been more than a few that I've found weird, creepy, or just plain dumb - ocasionally I'll comment on it, so its nice to see someone else do it too (not saying Krico's handle fits into any of the aforementioned categories! )

My friend Cujo makes a point too - strongly consider membership especially if you plan to visit Costa Rica - and again, welcome to the board :)

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. I chose to join this site after reading a lot of everyones banter between each other, it brought a tear to my eye in remembrance of a long lost family, I love that shit. As they say joke 'em if they cant take a Phuck.

My interest in CR started I would say 20 or so years ago. A boat business of mine was taken off and making me tons of money, so I was looking into selling and relocating to a more favorable place. I was digging deep into opening another business and wanted to keep it in the Boat industry, just not in the US. So the place needed lots of water near, hence CR was on my radar, after a little research a visit, I fell in love with the place, warm beaches, hot women and cold beer what more can a man ask for? After more research, I come to find out that "I cant even do my own books?" I would have to hire everyone to do everything, Phuck that. I mean come on, I like people sure but I dont trust them enough to turn over the keys to a fresh off the dock $80K speed boat. Sorry. So I had to scratch that idea, I'm sure there are ways around it but not at the chance of pissen off the wrong people, if you know what I mean. This set back hasnt changed my love for the country just delayed my relocating for about another 15-20yrs.

Unless you are a very visible business, always ways to get around things down here. Just don't ever open a business here that requires employees. 8)

Dealing with $80K+ Boats, yeah, I would consider that to be a higher profile business...LOL. Internet businesses I can see your point but I dont know shit about computers. I can sure in the hell build ya one badass machine that will scream across the water at ridiculous speeds though.

You wouldn't be in the North Miami area would you? I used to hang out at Fort Apache many moons ago and at the time that was the area where they were making all the go fast boats.

Ah, Thunderboat Row....brings back memories - Don Aranow, Ben Cramer (who paid to have him killed  ) who owned Ft Apache, if memory serves.

I think its condo's now - or mostly! :)

That's it! The bar was very cool at Fort Apache. I played there in the late 90's and there would always be a couple of cigarette boats, a donzi and a fountain or two. Yeah, the Aranow murder was a big mystery when it happened. Then everyone seemed to know who it was... yep, the good old days.

Yeah, Ben Kramer did it........

Claimed Don screwed him on the price of a boat company he bought from him - but that was long before the late '90's; I think Don was killed in the '80's :)

I type faster than my brain at times. It was the late 80's when I was bouncing around South Florida. Moved there after college in 87. Had a limousine service for 4 years so heard a lot's of the juicy stuff going on during those times. Guys making cash deals for boats a mile off shore. More cash than many could even spend. Just a tad past the cowboy days in Miami.
