I've had zero luck w/ Kayak, but you did great; better than fares out of S FL, which is much closer.
I get from your posts that its been a while since you have been to CR (for example, the Presidente is downright hostile; got that way w/in the last 10 months or so; can't stay there if you want to bring back "company"). I'm not a fan of the DelRey for many reasons, but for $55......
Also, plan to spend some time at Hotel Little Havana (former Zona Blue) and the Sportsmans Lodge - the Sportsmans especially has really bloomed into quite a place, especially around the early evening hours - much more crowded that it was in the past; both are great places.
The MP have really come into their own; were always there, but with the exception of a few gringo ones, few guys went - now a ton do.
Consider (strongly) PMing Pops or Bilko and taking a tour - well worth it, b/c things have changed and they can bring you up to speed.
