Post subject: | CR Newbie Virgin |
Ok guys I have been coming to CR, for about eight years, about half the time its solo. I've been ripped off once and fell in luv (for at least couple hours) many times. My biggest fault is that I have procrastinated in signing up for CRT, many minor faults though. My question is how do I get that title off of CR Newbie Virgin? |

Its all a matter of how many posts you have - the site "designations" are tongue in cheek; no one takes them seriously. Personally I don't like the one currently attached to me, but its really all in fun ![]() To paraphrase Martin Luther King, its the content of your posts that matters vs whats near your name - just read some posts - a "Phd from DelRey University" is no asssurance of a knowledgable post, believe me ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Don't let that be a deterrent from posting, anything you say will most definitely be helpful to somebody, however trivial it might sound to some. ![]() |

You can post as much as you want, but until you get your time in doing what we talk about you will always feel that way. Who cares about the number of posts really? I only have a few over 100 and trust me when I say I am by no means a newbie. So fugg the titles and start sharing what you have learned since you have been coming down. The proof is in the pudding my man......... Good Luck...... the DR <-------OG'n it for all y'all who need it...... ![]() |

I believe i can shed a little bit of light on this from what i've seen. It took me 50 posts to move to the the level where it shows, "Not a newbie, i just don't post much" and it took 150 posts to get to "I can do Costa Rica without a wingman." I believe the next level after that needs either 200 or 300, from what i've seen by how many posts other people have made and how long it took to upgrade. I tend to make my posts worth the trouble. For example, trip reports, roll calls, adding comments to other peoples posts, and asking questions if not sure. I may have 2 trips to CR under my belt, but am in no way a pro yet. |

I think the problem here is not really the title. How do you become a non-virgin newbie in CR? I mean if the title on here is what you are worried about, then you have much bigger problems. Trust........ Like everyone says, you have to post more, but my suggestion is make your posts valuable to the rest of the guys on here. If you really do have 8 years of visits under your belt I would think you have something to say other than "how do I get a better title?" Seriously? I think a lot of guys would like to hear some of your experiences over the years. It could help someone from making the same mistake. So let's hear it.....And one day we can take a poll and we can give you a different title if you really need it.........lol the DR <------OG'n here there and everywhere.... ![]() |
