There is or was a sponsor, but do a search and you may find out that he has a bad rep. I recommend PMs one of the big fishermen like Mucho Gusto and he can probably recommend someone. :D

quepos is about 3 hours now with the new autopista del sol. biggest fleet within 3 hours i'd say, lots of websites, in shore and deep, great world class beach, manuel antonio, a few miles away from the marina, lots of good hotels, restaurants, a little p4p at la pescadores across from best western in quepos. alot of fishermen and captains hang out at the bar at 'the great escape' in quepos centro. lynch travel in quepos, been around forever, has a good website to give you an idea of the area and activities including fishing and they can make alot of your arrangements at no additional costs to you, they take it from the provider who would charge you the same. or you can free lance and hook up. i met the head of the marina, american named perry. nice guy, not hooked up money wise with any of the boats or captains, most if not all of them moor just outside out of the marina and then they sail in and pick you up on the seawall with a long stairwell. he's in the business of selling slips and running this new multi million dollar operation. he'd be a good source for you. alot of guys just go in the am and negotiate with the captains or hook up with guys looking for a third or fourth. i think the marina's name is marina la pez or something. google marina quepos and you'll find it. very nice, probably the nicest on the coast but i haven't seen the ones way further south in drake bay. and there's los suenos, closer to sj, but not as big and i've heard pricier.

quepos is my favorite area in cr, been there 100 times. i doubt crt sponsors.

If you want to seriously have the best chance at catching some big fish use these guys!

http://www.maverickyachtscostarica.com/

Maverick is american owned & operated.
Costarican Captains and Mates.
On average they catch more fish than anyone else.
Their secret is their custom made Maverick boats.
The Fly boats always do very well and frequently win the billfish tournaments in Los Suenos.

Call them ASAP as they book way in advance.

It is the rainy season/slow season so you may get lucky a find they have availability.

They will allow you to bring girls on the boat too.
However I would recommend against bringing girls on all day fishing trip.
It just doesn't seem to work out well.

If your serious about fishing focus on fishing during the day.

When your done fishing focus on pu*sy.

Bringing girls on the boat is way to much of a distraction and problematic.

The crews lose all motivation to take fishing seriously when naked girls are running around the boat.

The boats are at Los Suenos about 10mins or so from Jaco.

Hope you give us a trip report when you get back.

Buena Suerte

Have to agree with Planenutz69. Been out on there boats every 6 months for the last three years and never disappointed. We usually take out Spanish Fly, The Bite and Super Fly. Captians and Mates are always great and entertaining. Food is good. Might not be the least expensive at Los Suenos but trust me you get what you pay for. There is a reason these guys win just about every tournament and are always booked way in advance during season.
