Post subject:  Question about MPs
During my couple of days in San Jose there were various questions that came up about the gulch. Most were answered by helpful CRT members who I ran into, but there are still a few things I was wondering.

Why do some girls choose to work in MPs instead of being independent and picking up clients in the known bars?

Let's say the average independent working girl gets between 50 and 100 dollars per session, the actual number probably falling somewhere in the middle, and the girl in the mp charges around 50 (I don't know how much the owner gets....that im not interested in).

For what reasons would a girl choose to work in an mp over In a bar? Many of the girls in HLH were more attractive then many of the girls I met at the SL asking for more money. Is it purely a safety thing?

1. security (won't be found under the bed or in the bathtub dead 3 days later)
2. steadier stream of clients, will usually get some work every day whereas they can go a couple of days without work at DR
3. no personality/social skills
4. MP's aren't as visible as the biggest whorehouse in CR (HDR)
5. their amigas work there too
6. set price no haggling and paid upfront, can't get ripped off

etc.

The previous post hit it right on the nail. I would add,
1. Safety (the girls could not be forced to do something they don’t want to do)
2. Most girls have K*ds and working during the day is better. Granma could take care of the K*ds during the day.
3. The girls don’t have to put up with all the BS that independents or from HDR have to undergo. (gringo’s Spanish, drunks, deranged, egomaniacs, etc)
4. The client pays the manager before going to the room and they have a steadier salary that working at HDR or as independent. :)

First of all, the average independent MAY get $50 to $100, but there are plenty of times they get $0. Nobody knows for sure what the ratio is, but there are plenty of girls who 'work' 5 nights a week and get PERHAPS 2 customers.

Another reason, and a big one, is the hours. Lots of girls don't want to work nights or can't, for various reasons... Ch*ldren is the biggest one, followed by the cost of taking a taxi all the way to Desamparados or even Aserri, which can cost $10. That's a big chunk if you haven't landed a customer. Before the buses stop running at around 11, getting almost anywhere doesn't cost more than a dollar. From what I've witnessed, most of the 'action' for independents is after 11. The Del Rey is open afternoons, but lots more chicas than potential customers.

These is in addition to all of the above reasons well-stated by others.

Makes me wanna ask what makes mongers either choose MP's or the Indy's..seems more interesting to me..

That's one of the more thoughtful questions i've heard in a while. Here's my take...

Sometimes i don't want any b.s. That's an MP day. I don't have many but they do appear every once in a while. Indy's are for mongers the same way they perceive their business: undpredictable, b.s., lots of irritation sometimes. Sometimes I just don't want to deal with the exasperation. And an MP is almost always the lowest price for little or no negotiations, vs. indy's. As for the MP's themselves, some of them are actually pretty decent hangouts, HLH in particular coming to mind. Can't wait to try a sandwich -- are they serving yet?
