I know I have to take a cab at night no matter what.

However, I am just curious to the hazards if a person does walk at night.
Is is the number of attackers, weapons or how do you confront people at night.

I have do the walking in other countries when it was considered dangerous. This was because I blended in and knew what to expect.

I will not blend in when in CR so again. I will not walk just curious to the CR way of life on the night streets.

Without that much sarcasm how can a newbie protect himself, act, expect when intoxicated and talking with the talent.
Will things change when back in the room too?

You can purchase a nice 44 magnum handgun and a Mossberg short barrell 9 shot powder coated pump shot gun for a 40% premium without any paper work what so ever. You will be a walking one person army of one. You can even be drunk in the process. You are my new hero, forget Bruce Willis, hes a fag.

I thought only citizens and permanent residents in CR could legally own weapons.

Why get rid of the hats - because they make me stick out as a gringo?

Not sure I want to buy a gun on the black market. First time I have to use it for home defense I'll end up in jail an most likely deported.

Corporations can own guns as well. The gun just can't leave company property...

That´s the problem at night in San Jose, you just don´t know what to expect. Plenty of thieves, some might have knives, some carry guns, some work in groups. Why take an unneccessary risk, when taxis are plenty and cheap, one or two dollars. :)

Check out his other thread if you have not already done so - in this section, too:

He needs to seriously consider a "Pops Tour" - search it; best move you can make. Don't do CR w/out some help - and remember - clueless and drunk is a terrible combo   :P

Maybe CR is not.... Just ask Rolltide (sorry  :P  )

Curious - what hats does K Pax wear - like a cap, a cowboy hat - or like the one the "Cat in the Hat" wears???

well isn't that a bit trollish? or is that an attempt at humor?
besides a quick chop to the adams apple of a tranny usually does the job.
i have walked the streets at night many times in four years and have never encountered an "attacker".
not saying they don't exist but if you aren't drunk or doing stupid shit you don't need to blend in. locals have no idea who you are or what you know. most stories i have heard of attacks were on people drunk in bad parts of town doing stupid things.

I wear traditional hats, nothing fancy or expensive. You know, the kind they wore in detective movies in the old days.

Ahhhh, nothing like a stroll thru Morzon park after midnight, its like an acid trip, err something.... LMAO!

I know i push the limits, but i like to walk! I live near Miami... i dont drink ( 1 or 2 beers a trip avg)... i walked with 2 friends during the day into some God forsaken looking parts of town, looked like post nuclear disaster world.... ( the Mp tour)
i kept saying , " i think we should turn back".... but we pressed on, it was fun and no problems : )

i feel safe, but DONT WALK AT NIGHT!

(is there a section where people put stories about bad things happening?)

Pick one; many are in the Newbi or General sections of the board....or do a search - there are some on the board.

The "however" is almost always, the story of bad things happening starts with:

"It was real late at night, I was alone, really drunk, and......"

Most of the bad stories/things that happen could be avoided if the guy used a little common sense, and was not drunk - that seems to be the constant in every bad thing happening story :)
