Lets say that booze is a big as weakness as ladies.
Without that much sarcasm how can a newbie protect himself, act, expect when intoxicated and talking with the talent.
Will things change when back in the room too?

Give your passport to the hotel desk clerk when checking in.

Wake up and walk to an MP and try to get a nut.

Spend the rest of the time having security return you to your room drunk.

Leave the last day with your passport.

Yeah, it might not "happen"

As Clint Eastwood said "A mans got to know his limitations"

Gotta be honest with you - I hate drunks, and will tell you that being drunk is one form of preventable stupidity - one of the best ways for me to think someone is a complete tool is to start a post or a conversation with words to the effect " Boy you should have seen me last night - I was so drunk...." What was funny when you were 18 or 20 (Growing up, the drinking age in NY was 18) really is not when you are 30, 40, 50++.

I would call myself a light drinker.

In an attempt to provide solutions to questions vs just slamming, I'll give you my perspective, because lets face it - CR is not Disney World (well, in some ways it is  ) and guys are going to drink, and often cross that line. You want to get/be drunk and are asking are there any downsides - well, despite the fact I admire on one level your honesty, my first suggestion is to grow up and not to be drunk - at least not all the time.

The girls may consider you a tool and refuse to be with you (maybe  ), you may not be able to perform, you are unlikely to be as aware and can be easily robbed, and so on. Plus, its costing you hard earned money to come down - do you really want to spend half your time drunk, and the other nursing hangovers?

Interesting, the majority of times guys have had problems in CR one of (or all!) 3 things always seem to be present:
Late at night
Alone
Drunk

OTOH - its not a bad idea to consider MP's (I'd be real careful about bringing anyone to my room) - also, a (sober) wingman would be really helpful.

Now, despite my previous comments about drunks, I suspect - hope - you are posting about maybe being a little buzzed vs really drunk - if so, you will likely be fine - if your stage of enjoyment is to get really out of it - come down to CR when you are midway through the 12 steps.

I live in Costa Rica and can tell you that every bad story I hear starts with "Well, we were drinkin'...".

My wingman and I have discussed this many times.
We both agree that our best trips were the one's where we drank the least.

I guess I watched too many cowboy and old movies that shaped my mind that whoring and drinking go hand in hand. Not a big fan of the cerebral thought out approach. Just take your precautions before going out. Make a copy of passport and leave the real thing stashed or in a safe. Same with money and cards.

I like to drink and party at the same time...but I take full responsibility for whatever happens to me if it happens or is exacerbated because I was drunk.

The problem is that drinking and fugging don't go "hand in hand". In fact, the opposite is true.

Drinking dulls your senses. It makes things numb, including your dick. Since you are paying to phuck, why dull the experience with an anesthetized body? Why struggle to get hard, struggle to feel anything, struggle to get off, then struggle to remember who/what you did?

This makes no sense to me unless the booze is needed (like the dude in Big Bang Theory who can't talk to a female unless he's been drinking). But, to each his own.

Might be just what it takes to get me to pass the time. And this is just for me, no judgements, but I couldn't spend more than about 15 minutes in the gulch without alcohol.... Now let me clarify, I'm not advocating drinking until unable to function. :D

i think thats the caveat. drinking enhances the experience or maybe makes it tolerable. but theres a big difference between imbibing and sloppy intoxication.
the other thing being not all of us live there and its vacation. if you can't relax and tilt back a couple whats the point?

Yeah, it kinds helps see things as better than they really are. Let's face it the place is somewhat of a $hit hole, beer goggles help everything look better.
