As Zman said, Farmica Parque (east side of calle Central just south of Ave. 4, the new walking street) sells generic V cheeper than any other farmacia I have found. Henex brand is 2 for c2000 (100mg). The Raven brand which I think (may just be my imagination) works a little better (less flushing of the face for me) is buy 6, get 2 free for c8200 total as of today.

I was told in 2 different Fishel farmacias that they now require a script and they are also the most expensice farmacias in CR.

OH! the funny thing about the Raven brand is that they are almost as big around as a dime and in the foil pack they look yellow. When you take them out of the pack they are blue. and they have a line thru the middle making it easy to cut in half for us guys that only use 1/2 at a time.

I've seen mixed reports on buying from the guys outside DR. Has anyone had personal experiences good or bad? I understand that the pharmacy is the way to go but as an option if you're getting in too late for an open place.

Then we will walk up the hill to the pharmacy just pass the Amistad Hotel and get the cash discount.
Then later that evening we will walk back pass the Sportsman's Lodge and find "Al the Sausage King" .
And we wont pay double the price from the guys just outside the door at the Del Rey.

Or better yet, contact Pops and take his tour, because 200 post on the subject isn't enough.

I've seen conflicting information on viagra (cialis etc). It seems you used to be able to get it w/o a Rx but that has changed. Is this accurate?

No you do not need a prescription for either. I was there last week and picked up my normal supply. The pharmacy I use is on Central Ave across the street from KFC, very easy to find. The pharmacist is a heavy set fairly young asian man who goes by Dr Lee, he is a hell of a nice guy and speaks perfect English. His prices are very reasonable, I'm sure someone is cheaper but I never found them. He is also an excellent source for other things such as antibiotics, stomach meds, etc..

The pharmacy across from the KFC one of the previous posters mentioned is the biggest ripoff in CR. He charges double or triple what other pharmacies charge.He should become a CRT sponser , he would make millions. Over the years I have heard other just off the plane gringos say the same thing. . Funny as hell the most expensive pharmacy in the country is a great deal. The best prices I have found are cialis 20mg 3 for 3800 colones less than 3 bucks apiece. Viagra 2 for 2500 colones 2.50 apiece .

I am mid 30's and I wanted to try this Viagra thing here in SJ so yesterday I got 8 pills for $40, mmmm what's that? - $5/each?! I have never needed. Didn't really notice a difference either. They were the generic brand.
