Very underrated; seldom mentioned; very Tico; very "cost effective" with most generally always a diamond in the rough (and no "gringo pricing") is MUSES: Across the street from Hotel Santo Tomas. No sign, no nothing. Glass door; ring the buzzer to gain entry. Next door or two is a youth hostel which hides behind a giant iron gate.

You better bring a good shovel because you'll need to dig deep to find a diamond there. The last time I went in there, the heifers could've been the O-line for the Giants.

I dunno.....I never carry a shovel, myself. And many times, yes, I have seen the moocows. I've also seen the ass for days heifers. Heifer can be an insult or a term of awe here in the heartland. However, seek and ye shall find: Don't seek, ye shall not find.

For full disclosure, I've been PM'd by a senior member of the Board who reports upselling and other assorted "problems", so perhaps the joint ain't right. However, after 4 years I have not experienced any problems myself and the diamonds I have found there I shall not share. :P

Seek. It is all about seeking and mining. I bees a miner for a heart of gold. (Cash's version)

It is interesting that the MPs off of Paseo Colon no longer get any attention on the board. There are a bunch that are within several blocks of each other, sort of centering on the Machu Pichu Peruvian Restauant (pretty good, not as good and most expansive than Soda Peru, but a good diverse menu). Walking between the MPs is very safe during the day (when they are open), and I always have found some good providers and good service. Remmember, this is where many of our so called superstars started that have moved on to the more "upscale" places. It is only a 1200 or so Colones cab ride (if I remmember correctly) an easy walk from Mercado Central if you are tripping around there.

Excellent suggestions, Hank Daman. Yet another aspect of seeking and finding "outside" of the "name brand MP's" and "outside" "The Gulch". If nothing else, it puts ya on a "mini-adventure" during the day and gives ya something to do....exploring....wunnerful....wunnerful.... Good on you! 8)

It seems up until even two years ago guys were talking about those MPs a great deal more. Somehow, the focus moved to Cujos favorite place, in spite of the quality being similar (or better on Paseo Colon, IMHO). For guys who don't know, this is really a pritty nice area of town. A day time stroll is very pleseant. The is also a pretty good ColOmbian place on the corner were Oasis is (or it was there last year, someone may wish to correct me).

Wondering in that area a couple of I have even found new places- monger instincts often will tell you when a place is an MP.But be careful with THAT logic ;)

I think it was two years ago that Smoothwind and I found the most amazing par of chicas at Kama Sutra- both easily 8s in looks and 10s in performance. We had them back to the hotel for some interesting times. Very none hard core chicas. It was also at Oasis 7 years ago that I was first (and only) with Pamala, and received my first high five after BBJCIMNQNS. And Laura back then, 1500 or so guys ago, was something to behold....

I remmember leading a walking tour about six years ago with a couple of first timers, you know, before there were professionals who charged for such a thing.

Good times....Would be great to hear about some reports of walking tours such as this...Perhaps Cujo and Steven1 can do one together?

Yo, Hank: I am all skippy for that. Good suggestion as it would provide a vastly differing perspective and allow for a very objective "review".

The problem, however, is that the SL "family" do a lot of HATING. ONLY "in crowd" people are allowed to have "cogent" (do "they" even know what the word means????) thoughts. If you don't do "it" the SL "family" way...you is a nerd, a Mr. Magoo, a loser...blah, blah, blah....pick your adjective (ya think the dimbulbs even know what an adjective is?).

Sadly, over the past four years, I've seen less and less desire to scope out what is what San Jose city wide. If it don't happen at the SL, it don't count. *shrug* IDIOTS ABOUND

PS: Mongering is all about abundance. It do NOT include "wifing up" or "favoritas". Those that elect to do either of the two are seeking to fulfill an unmet need of intimacy via professionals that will only lead to yet more ruin. again, *shrug*: FINE BY ME: Leaves more choice for the true monger. 8)
